Dear Students, Parents, Alumni, and Friends of John Paul the Great Academy,

To say that I am honored to be selected as the new headmaster for John Paul the Great Academy would be an understatement. I know very well that I am blessed to have been chosen to lead such a special school, and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to become a part of this special community.

In exploring the Academy, it became clear that here at John Paul the Great beats the heart of an undying faith, that here resounds the echo of an ancient tradition in education, and that here waves the proud flag of our American heritage.

In my brief association with John Paul the Great Academy, I have come to understand that it embodies the virtues of a truly Catholic community, a community devoted to the one-minded pursuit of God and the raising of human beings who will stand as guardians for our faith and our heritage.

It has been said that in order to become great in the eyes of God, we must become little. This community is great in its littleness. I sense that God is going to take the light of this little community, and He is going to make it shine so brightly that soon it will be seen from afar.

Desiring to build on the foundation laid by Dr. Roberts and Mr. Fletcher, I hope, by the grace of God and the help of your prayers, to further the good work they have begun in building the Academy to its full potential, as a beacon of excellence for what it means to be a Catholic, Classical, and American school. Together, we will build the best possible school for your children and the children of Acadiana for years to come.

My family and I feel uniquely blessed to be joining the John Paul the Great Academy community. On behalf of myself, Geralyn, Thomas, and Charlotte, we eagerly anticipate getting to know you all very soon.

May the Earth be better, and Heaven richer, because of the life and labor of John Paul the Great Academy.

Mr. Rea and his wife Geralyn have been married since 2011. They have two children, Thomas and Charlotte. Mr. Rea was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan and raised in Pinckney, Michigan.
