Introduction and Organization of Reports

In order to run the Management Reports, starting from the Hyperion workspace and its “Explore” initial

screen, you should select / expand the following folders path:

“Root”> “Reports”> “REPORTING”.

You can also access to the same path by clicking on the "Explore" command button that appears in

the controls bar. You can do it in every moment, even if you have just connected to the Reporting

application.

2

Introduction and Organization of Reports

The running Reports contained in the

“REPORTING” folder are currently divided into

three sub-folders:

“Check HFM Fraustat – Reporting”

It includes some Reports that allow you to

check the amounts of any squares and among

macro-types of Management actual data

loaded into the HFM Reporting application

compared with those ones which have been

entered into the Financial Statements

(Statutory, Fraustat HFM) in order to simply

realign them during the quarterly closings;

"Financial Reporting" which contains Reports

related to the “Profit & Loss” data;

"Sales" that contains Reports related to “Net

Revenues – Sales” data.

3

Introduction and Organization of Reports

The Name and the Description define the data shown in the Report

4

Opening Reports

You can run / open the desired Report by double-clicking or right clicking on its code / short name.

In this second case you should select “Open In” control in the relative menu and choose between

the two types of available Previews: “HTML Preview” (web preview) or “PDF Preview” (acrobat

preview). This last one allows you to see the best and definitive layout of the Reports.

5

Setting the Point of View

After launching the Report, the “Preview User Point of View” (the so called “Preview User POV”)

window appears where it is necessary to check / set some parameters about the drillable

dimensions.

If you would like to change the selection of one or more proposed pre-chosen dimensions, click on

the "Select" button placed next to the interested field. The Member Selection window appears: you

can select the desired item. For each dimension - based on its hierarchical structure - may be

required to explode the upper levels of its hierarchy by clicking on the “+“. Once you have selected

the desired item, click on the “OK” button.

6

Setting the Point of View

For example, after double-clicking on the “P&L ACT vs BDG CY” Report, it is necessary to select the

Year, Period, and Entity POV dimensions.

For the “Year” dimension, after clicking on the “Select” button placed next to its field, in the Member

Selection window we can select 2011 and then click on the “OK” button below, on the right corner of

the window.

7

Setting the Point of View

For the “Period” dimension, after clicking on the “Select” button, we can select the month of

September by exploding the hierarchy of this dimension (by clicking on “+”), starting from the “[Year]”

element “HY2” (Second Half) “Q3” (Third Quarter) and by selecting the “SEP” item (a “Base

member” of the Period dimension). At the end we can click on the “OK” button.

8

Setting the Point of View

At the end, for the “Entity” dimension, after clicking on the “Select” button and increasing the rows

number of the “Rows Per Page” field above from 20 to 50, we can select the “Poltrona Frau” Entity

(with code 001) by exploding the “GROUP” folder and then select the desired “GROUP.001” Entity

code. At the end we can click on the “OK” button.

9

Preview User POV: Database Connection Field

After launching the Reports saved into the “Check HFM Fraustat – Reporting” folder, the “Preview

User POV” window also contains the “Database Connection” field.

By clicking on its drop-down list you should select “All” if you would like to set the same dimensions

below for both the HFM Reporting and Fraustat (Statutory) applications / database connections. You

can use this option if their parameters correspond to each other. In this case you do not need to

select them for the individual database connection.

Otherwise, if the two applications currently use different dimensions, you have to set them separately

for each Database Connection (“REPORTING” and “STATUTORY”).

Note: In the Statutory you have to select the single month as “Period” dimension (not the entire

quarters or half year).

10

Respond to Prompts window: example

After running some Reports, in addition to “Preview User POV” window, also the "Respond to

Prompts" dialog box may appear. In this case you have to confirm or even modify the elements

that appear in the “Selection” fields. They belong to the same dimension.

For example, when you run the "Sales_Monthly Comparison ACT vs FORE or BDG" Report, you

have to select the two Scenarios that you would like to compare with.

Click on the control button placed next to the dimension you want to change.

11

Respond to Prompts window: exampleIn the next window you can move / replace the elements contained in the left and right grids by using

the appropriate flags and arrows (central control buttons).

At the end the desired element you want to consider must appear in the right grid.

For example, in the above Report we can change / replace the “FORE” (Forecast) Scenario with the

“BDG” (Budget) one. After moving the “FORE” to the left and the “BDG” to the right, we can click on

the “OK” button below and then confirm our selection by clicking on it also in the previous window.

Header or title of the Report, that

contains the description and the main

dimensions of the Point of View (POV).

Starting from the web format

only, it is also displayed a

grey line – the so called “Grid

Point of View (“GridPOV”) -

that contains some selectable

dimensions (those underlined

only, such as View, Custom2 /

Business, Value / Currency or

Custom4 / Nature) and other

fixed ones (such as ICP or

Custom1 / Brand). You can

verify or even modify the

variable parameters in the

Member Selection window by

clicking on the code or

description of the desired

one.

The dimensions already selected in the previous “Preview

User POV” window (for example Entity, Year, Period) also

that appears in the controls and instruments toolbar of the PDF Reader.

“File” menu and selecting the following commands: “Export” “Fully-Formatted Grids and Text”.

16

Save Report in Excel

When the download window appears, it is recommended first to save the Report and only later to

confirm its opening. Then click on “Yes” in the next dialog about the format type.

17

Close Report

To close the current Report you can simply click on the “x” above placed next to the tab / label that

contains the code / short name of the opened Report.
