Page 11: Introdution Multinet Pakistan

Long Haul Network: Ring Architecture Topology

On the long haul, the entire DWDM network is

based on ring architecture. This helps each of

the TDM circuit realized on the overlaid NG

SDH network to be mapped on a primary as

well as a standby secondary route. A cut on

one segment of the network can disrupt the

primary path of that circuit but the NG SDH

network can switch, typically within 50 ms, to

the backup path ensuring smooth

uninterrupted services to the customers.

Ring Topology for Redundancy

Page 12: Introdution Multinet Pakistan

Operation Control & Support Center

• There are two main operations control center of the networks – Karachi and Lahore. Each

operations center caters to the various distinct networks being run – DWDM/NG SDH network,

the Cisco based IP/MPLS network, the Cisco based Metro Ethernet networks and the C4/C5 voice

networks.

• Manned on a 24x7x365 basis by qualified network engineers who monitor the network for

unusual activities & behavior and respond accordingly. Any unusual behavior in the network is

immediately detected using various automatic monitoring systems and this triggers actions by

the network monitoring departments who activate regional resources to reach out to the root

cause of such issues and corrective actions are immediately taken up to address the

problem/issue.

• The 24x7x365 NOCs manage and maintain the network. Extensive use of Emails and SMS alerts

is made to the first respondent teams.

• Highly trained engineers, by profession, are available as Online Technical support 24x7x365 .

The promise of excellence extends well beyond the product portfolio itself to

the 24x7 operational support both in Pakistan as well as across the globe

assuring clients of uninterrupted service supported by Service level

Agreements tailored to meet customer specifications.
