Ashley Marie Fox was by all accounts a

purposeful, driven, passionate, woman. Born in

Anaheim, California in 1958 to loving parents,

Ashley attended Catholic school throughout her

childhood including graduating from Cornelia

Connelly School in 1976.

During her first 3 years at University

California Irvine, she worked for a local accountant

for practical experience and part time as a cast

member of Disneyland. Her youthful charm, Irish

red-hair, and freckled face, invigorated the small

practice and it began to grow.

Ashley spent her free time prothletising the

Gospel of the Internal Revenue Service, doing her

co-workers taxes for free in the early days.

Friends and family would joke, If the only

two things for sure in life are, Death & Taxes;

Ashley was covered. Her ability to explain the tax

code, to make this necessary chore, (Patriotic

service of every American.) a light, cheerful,

painless transaction, for which she sometimes, even

paid their postage, allowed her to captured a lion

share of Disney Cast Member as clients. (They will

all grow to earn and own more later in their lives,

they will all need an accountant.) She began her

final year of college, by buying into the small firm

and becoming a partner.

And then in the fall of 1979 she met Micheal

OConner.

Her life to this point was one of discipline

and direction.

Micheal was neither; Blond & Bronze from

spending the summer at his grandfathers in San

Clemente he was cocky, loud, and much to her

discontent he was a genius.

Ask me something, He would challenge

her,anything at all. If I am correct, and you know I

will be, I get to ask you apersonal question.

And if yourewrong she retorted,

you have to leave me alone.

determine,he quipped how desperate you are to

see me,.. and tell me all your secrets.

Tell him she did. She poured herself into

another human being for the first time in her life,

and he listened, he was hers, she was his.

Parents were introduced, plans were made,

Ashley graduated and took control of the small

accounting firm.

On Halloween of 1980, Micheal Patrick

OConner drove Ashley Marie Fox to a small

neighborhood on the west side of the Disneyland

Hotel. Trick or Treaters were moving in groups

among the homes along Kimberly Lane. A street

know for its unique collection of three large

Victorian Style homes. Grossly out of place in this

quiet neighborhood of single story, single-family

homes, each house an exact copy of the others, rose

three stories off the ground.Nicknamed the 3

sisters the homes were infamous in the whispers

that make up a citys history.

Micheal pulled his small blue Ford Ranger in

front of the middle sister.

Lets see if they have any candy. he stated

What? Wait, we cant do that? she called

after him, We cant just randomly pick a house to

go Treat or Treating. Wedont.We dont have

costumes. She said looking about the imposing

structure.

Sure we do, he smiled at her, and stepped

toward the houses enormous round front porch I

am dressed like your husband and you are dressed

like my wife.

She stopped in mid stride, Micheal spun

around and moved to one knee. She covered her

mouth in anticipation.

He waved toward the house, This is mine.

And I want to fill it with OUR children, will you do

the honor of being my wife?

How Micheal had come to own the Middle

Sister as it was known, was something of a

mystery, in Ashley Foxs world people didnt give

away such an asset. But that wasMichaels story,

he had beengiven the house by a friend because the

man was too old to care for it. She suspected

gambling was behind it, but as long as she held the

deed

They were married on February 28, 1981 at

Saint Boniface in Anaheim. Friends, Family and her

clients were invited to dance the night away with a

reception at the Disneyland Hotel.

The enormity of the house inspired Ashley,

and she promptly moved her practice into a large

first floor sitting room to save money. Micheal

graduated the following spring and went to work

for McDonald Douglas in Long Beach. Driving

every morning with the sunrise climbing over

Saddleback Mountain as he worked his way down

Katella Ave.

In his off hours, he tinkered with everyday

household appliances trying to make them better

and more energy efficient. The house on Kimberly

Lane began to look like more workshop than house.

The massive structure has two master suites that

extended the length and breadth of the upper 3rd

story. The 2nd floor is an odd collection of bedrooms

and bathrooms. The OConners consider remolding

but improving the efficiency of the house is their

highest priority: The house is the first in the

neighborhood to have Solar heating, and a rain

water reclamation system. Dissected vacuum

cleaners, blenders, toasters, all litter the garage,

living room and kitchen. He files a series of patents

for his improved designs.

The lack of any mortgage payment allowed

them the freedom to spend on their separate

business. In subsequent years, Ashley would keep

up her time at Disneyland with a few shifts every

month, mostly to acquire new clients. Sitting in her

Orange & White 1969 Volkswagen Bus, in the

employee parking lot, cheerfully filling out yet more

tax forms. Micheal began to promote her tax and

accounting service to those at his work and soon

she was confronted with the idea of hiring an

assistant.

Haley Mary Patterson is a single mother (an

11-year-old boy named George) in her early 30s, a

former alumni of Connelly and Cast-mate of

Ashleys, with the unfortunate nickname of Hail

Mary. (for reasons no one thought proper to ask)

Haley is slight, tiny in fact. As a ride operator

at Disneyland, she was not tall enough to ride the

rides. Fiercely loyal she is Ashleys constant

companion. During slower non-tax times, Ashley

& Micheal watch George as Haley attends Fullerton

College, and later graduates from Cal Poly Pomona

with a degree in Mathematics & Statistics.

October of 1981 Ashley & Micheal become

pregnant, and the OConners extended an invitation

for Haley and George to move in to the house with

them, occupying two of the 2nd floor bedrooms.

April 16, 1982 Catherine Anna Fox-

OConner is born. Ashley would not let the child be

born any sooner. In that same month, Micheal

receives an offer from a Japanese conglomerate to

buy his patent portfolio.

The child proves to be a difficult infant, and

Haley is asked to move up stairs to the one of the

master suites. The OConners sleep in a smaller

room next to the nursery for almost a year before

they feel comfortable with the idea of a flight of

stairs between them and their child.

Haley Patterson will remain in one of the 3rd

floor suites for the next twenty-odd years. She

begins to sell insurance within the structure of the

tax and accounting business and eventually will be

brought on as a partner, in business and, as some

have suspected, in marriage as well.

In 1983, two other children will enter the

OConner household. The first is an Apple II

computer and with it, a love affair & obsession in

the OConner-Patterson household that will one day

see them own over two dozen devices from the

Cupertino, CA manufacturer, including, one of the

first Macs, a Newton PDA, and an assortment of

laptops, iPads and iPhones.

The second child is the creation of an

investment company called; H.o.a (hands off

always). Using the money from the sale of

Micheals patent portfolio plus most of their

savings, and a new mortgage on the house, the three

adults form the investment company, and acquire

nearly 1500 shares in Warren Buffets Berkshire

Hathaway.

September 16, 1985 Lindsey Raven Fox-

OConner is born. She is a calm child with her

fathers coloring.

Cat & Raven attend St Juliana Falconieri in

Fullerton. They are with their parents constantly,

and the house begins to take on a decidedly

Disneyeque motif.

The two girls are as different as their parents.

Cat with her red hair and freckled face is an

Irish force of nature, a leader among her classmates

she dominates the home growing up.

Raven (only a nurse at the hospital ever called

her Lindsey) is blond, reserved in her approach, but

has an eye for detail that reminds everybody of her

father.

Micheal spends long hours with her on his

newest Mac teaching her to use MacPaint &

MacDraw, she has a natural eye for design.

The three adults give all the televisions in the

house to the St. Bonifice to be sold at a charity

auction. The House on Kimberly Lane will never

have another TV.

This household of six continues on for the

better part of six years with school, work and the

twice a year Family vacation.

Much like Goldie-locks, they try out the

islands of Hawaii.

Hawaii is too big,

Oahu is too crowded,

but Maui is just right.

So enchanted with the southern shore town of

Kihei, Ashley and Haley decide to purchase a condo

for their joint families.

It was on one of these family vacations that

Carmen Okelani Fox-OConner was conceived,

born October 31, 1993. Okelani means from

heaven as the OConners had given up hope of

any more children.

George Patterson is now a graduate of

Chapman University and will attend graduate school

at UC Santa Barbara. His time at the Victorian

house on Kimberly Lane becomes infrequent and

confrontational, he feels his mother is married to

Ashley and Micheal and wasting away.

September 16th 1996, on her eighth birthday

Raven Fox-OConner announces she will be

attending boarding school in England beginning

with the next term. She begins to speak with an

English accent and presents her parents with a

prospectus outlining her choice of school. After

some debate and a trip to England, Mother and

Daughter agree on Woldingham/Marden Park in

Caterham, southeast of London.

In years to come she will have to point out

that she went to an English boarding school well

BEFORE Harry Potter made his publishing debut.

In 2000 Cat will graduate from Connelly

High school and move on to UC Santa Barbara,

where a love affair with George Patterson will

finally commence without the watchful eye of their

parents.

In 2002, Ravens return to the house on

Kimberly Lane is as brief, as it is quasi-disruptive.

I am Gay she announced to the kitchen

floor, her British accent smooching it into Uhm,

Gay

Thats disgusting. Replied Ashley sitting

next to her daughter at the kitchen table, she glanced

at her husband, the twinkle in her eye made Micheal

smirk.

Mom she began to choke back tears

How dare you. Ashley scolded her

daughter.

The indignation climbed & cracked in

Ravens voice, I cant believe you would say

that. Her voice trailing off.

Fox-OConner family lore is built on a few

precious glimpse at what is commonly known as

The Face.

Ashleys eyes would squint, her breathing

would become controlled, and her neck and

shoulders would seem to grow exponentially. It was

a mental resting place while she decided her next

course of action. Micheal had divided these two

choices into Shock & Awe or Benevolent

Despot

The set of her jaw and the gleam in her eye

had already told him, this would be Shock &

Awe.

This family has spent the equivalent of the

GNP of Kiribati, to educate you and you bring me,

Um, Gay?

Ashley shifted in her seat, bring herself closer

to her daughter, Sweetheart,she whispered, if

you want your clitoris to be worked over by a man

and/or a woman, I could fucking, care less.

The use of the word clitoris caused Raven to

look up; she recoiled at the site of her mothers

intense stare.

Ashley pressed on, But to come in here, her

voice began to rise,and spout EITHER/OR

arguments at me is the..well, ok, just remember,

youstarted this conversation She glanced

sideways at her husband; Micheal realized this was

going to get very uncomfortable before it was over.

Mother?!

Oh no, dont get indignant with me, you are

the one who waltzed in here and declared, Im

gay, sothat is the conversation we are having.

I repeat, are you good in bed?

yourself above all else! We send you off to boarding

school and what do we get back in return? Weak &

Ok, Ashley smiled at her daughter, and

then looked at her husband; she realized he would

Raven, I know youve been away, and here

you are headed to Stanford, she paused realizing

distance had causedthis conversation to take place.

What conversations would there be after more time,

more distance. But you need to remember, What

is rule #1?

Raven smiled, The Face episodes always

ended, with a review of the Fox-OConner Family

Rules, Dont Preach, And Dont Proclaim. Dont

Label.

Number2? Ashley quizzed.

You are what you do. Dream privately, Do

publicly.

and 3?

Be articulate, speak the now of things. She

recited, gaining momentum. Number 4, Be

Passionate, but be mindful of Desire, and know the

difference.

Number 5; Never rely on anyone, or

anything for a paycheck. Number 6, Be Generous

with your attention, but your time is to be paid for.

Ashley took over and recited Number 7 as she

always did, And never put anything or anyone

ahead of this family.

You see.., she leaned into her 2nd child with

a look in her eye that caused Micheal to lurch, Here

we go he thought. myself I like to be fucked in

the ass. She said making eye contact with her

daughter. Throw in a little hair pulling, she

paused to tug slightly on her daughters blonde

mane. And, damn, I mean I cum like a garden

hose. She let the image trail off with her voice.

Raven couldnt or wouldnt comprehend what she

had just been told, and mentally retreated to staring

at the surface of the kitchen table.

Bonfice, just a few short months after her

graduation from UCSB.

At age 11, Carmen enrolls at UCI Bren

School of Information and Computer Sciences. She

has been home schooled her entire life and took her

G.E.D and qualifying exams when she was 10 years

6 mos 14 days.(if you ask her today)

Although in appearance she resembles her

mother with red hair and freckles, she is her fathers

child. Raised to be an intellectual giant, by the age

of 7 she has completely reorganized the accounting

and tax business, adding servers and now offering

H.o.a. clients web sites to promote their businesses.

(the sites are offered by Haley, because nobody

believes a 7 year old can write the code)

Micheal continues to register patents, many in

his daughters name. Carmen is restless in her

pursuit of the perfect business opportunity.

Micheal reads her endless news articles as she

writes code. Her focus is on business-to-business

applications. Specifically mobile payment

processing. An initial set of patents is sold a month

prior to her 12th birthday.

Father and daughter celebrate in true geek

fashion; buying popcorn and drinks for every guest

at the sold out local premiere of Josh Whedons

Serenity .They also announce to the assembled

crowd that all are welcome to stay for a second

feature, free of charge; Ridley Scotts Alien.

In 2006 Raven graduates from Stanford and

begins (much to Ashleys displeasure) working for

Sunset Magazines Corporation in Menlo Park, Ca.

In appearance, she resembles Michaels maternal

side of the family, voluptuous features with a great

mane of auburn hair. In personality, she has gained

the Irish fire that is distinctly her mothers.

On a cloudy May morning in 2008, Carmen,

at the age of 15, graduates from UCI. The small

gathering assembled to celebrate her

accomplishment is also treated to the news that Cat

is expecting twins.

Congratulatory hugs are interrupted by

Carmens reappearance with a neighbor and fellow

sister owner, Josh Lowenstein. The pale looking

Mr. Lowenstein raises a glass of champagne and

tells the crowd he has just sold his house to Carmen.

With the birth of the twins, Carmen asks

George and Cat to move in with her to the first

sister on the block. George still believes the

relationship between his mother and the OConners

to be dubious and pushes for her to move into the

first house with himself, Carmen and Cat.

Haley Patterson will not listen to any

discussion that removes her from her home. Now

in her late 50s she is content with her life, she looks

forward to more time in Hawaii. She has begun,

along with Ashley, to finalize the transition of the

family businesses to Cat and George.

April 1, 2010; Ashley Marie Fox-OConner,

while completing a purchase of a Newport Beach

apartment complex, collapses on site, passing away

from a sudden heart attack. An occasional smoker

and daily Irish Whiskey drinker, she is 52 years old.

H.o. a. is worth over $300 million dollars, in

real estate, including high-end apartment

complexes, patent royalties, fast food franchises, a

strip club, (a whole other story) and the original

Berkshire Hathaway Stock.

Immediately after the funeral Haley retires to

Hawaii, she has no plans of returning to the

mainlandever.

With a substantial inheritance (and a will

reading that savagely attacked Ravens continued

defiance of family rule number 5.) Raven and

Carmen begin their own social network site called

kQrks.com. The site targets overachievers, (and

their monstrously sized disposable income) giving

them a place on the web that is secure from the mere

mortals that drool and populate the Earth.

It was this rather fordable group, now

gathered around the kitchen table to hear about this

mornings escapade. Carmen ran thru the highlights,

using her iPad where necessary to illustrate the

importance of todays visitors. The Polycom

speakerphone crackled to life as a plea for help

reaches Hawaii. The picture of Elizabeth Victoria

Aragon, now moved to a place of honor among the

assemblage, seemed to be smiling that once again

she was the center of attention.

Micheal OConner stomped thru the

moist turf of Loma Vista Memorial Park, his boots

squishing irreverently his approach, a small toolbox

keeping time as it swings back and forth from his

arm. He stops at his wifes plot with an abrupt start,

lookingback toward the car, feeling he hadnt

walked quite far enough.

He places the toolbox on the ground next to

the grave. For a moment he stares at the gravestone,

it never fails to bring a smirk. The large

OConner

was blazed across the top half of the four-foot

high grave marker, with a smaller phrase equally as

brazen, in tone, if not in height of lettering.

AdiosMotherFuckers

Her children were scandalized by the

tombstone but Haley and Micheal would not be

denied their lovers final wish.

Micheal withdrew the grass aerators from the

toolbox and began to perforate the grass atop the

grave. He sprinkled theJohnny Jump Up seeds

heavily on the grass and repeated the process of

stepping them into the soil.

Gardeners patrolled the area with lawn

mowers only twice a month, if he came the day after

they mowed, the flowers would often last for a week

before being chopped off. Flowers closest to the

gravestone always survived the bi-weekly

onslaught, and offered a splash of purple to contrast

the granite & grass.

He sat on the toolbox, his eyes, little

recovered from this morning; he sniffed and plowed

a forearm across his nose.

Oh, God, where do I start? he asked

the sky.

The repeated sounds of car doors opening and

closing caused him to look back towards the parking

lot. His three children, a son-in law, and his two

grandchildren slopped their way toward him with

equal parts disgust, dismay, and infantile

fascination. He had fled the house before they had

all arrived, he needed time to think, to reason, to

investigate, to question, to understand.

Cat, as always, was the first to speak, Dad?

She looked past her father to look upon the

dreaded Tombstone; her twins were crowding

around their grandpa, pushing to be first into his lap.

Carmen and Raven laid siege to a nearby

bench, George tried and failed to wrangle the twins

away from their Grandpa. One twin, Hailey, spun

away to the tombstone tracing the outline of the

work Fuckers.

I hate that thing, Cat sighed.

Her father looked up, I need to explain

something thingshe offered.

Right! interrupted Raven, before anyone

else could speak, her English accent made Micheal

fight back a smile.

Cat squatted next down to her father, Who is

this woman, Dad? This Elizabeth Victoria Aragon?
