God is WiseWisdom : Hikma

In order to understand this discourse better we need to identify the different meaning of wisdom w/c is in this discourse we have four given meanings.

First DefinitionWisdom – Knowing and understanding the truth of anobject.

With respect to the boundless knowledge of God itrefers to the His knowledge.

One of the branches of divine knowledge.

Imam ‘Ali said. Wisdom is the lost treasure of HumanBeing, so find it whenever you search it.

Second DefinitionThe act of an agent are consistent and perfect and farfrom any faults.

All His action are realized as most unimpeachable andperfect manner and free from any defects or flaws.

Congruency and resemblance between an agent andits action.

Action - Truth, Manifestation of the fundamentalnature and a display of the perfection of its essence.

Imam ‘Ali’s statement that defines wisdom

“God measured all He created and then secured andstabilized creation.” NB 91

“Trough His knowledge He originates His creation andthrough His wisdom He creates them without copying orlearning from someone or utilizing a sample from a wisecreator.” NB 191

Deeming this world the best of all possible world.

Immeasurable expanses.

Act of God.

Divine wisdom behooves that His action be as perfect aspossible.

Third DefinitionEschewal of unrighteousness and abhorrent actions.

A wise man never commits indecent and evil acts.

Even though God can be able to commit evil acts, Hisperfect and illimitable essence requires that He solely agood source of good acts.

This definition entails belief that God is pure ofcommitting any act as the general intellect ofhumankind deems evil.

In contemplation of this definition : It become evidentthat “Justice” is a branch of this type of wisdom.

• Because it means that God did not commit evil actincluding lying, deceit, perfidy, or injustice.

Fourth DefinitionThe agent performs actions rationally and reasonable

motives and refraining from useless and futile acts.

God is pure from committing useless and purposeless actsand all His deeds are supported by rational intention.

Human beings perform specific action with aim.

Through volitional and meaningful action we endeavour toresolved our needs.

Human read books to replace ignorance to knowledge.

Definition of Divine wisdom outlined from Qur’anic Verses

“Did you think that We have created you in vain andthat you would not be return to Us? 23:115

Stated and regards the creation is divine act and thisact is not futile rather it has a sagacious aim.

God has created us for a purpose, for attainingperfection to achieve in the next life.

“And We have not created the heavens and earth andall that is between for sport. 44:38

An allusion to the creation of the Universe.

Why God created His servants?

Imam Sadiq (a.s.) said: “Verily, God, the Blessed, theExalted, has not created His creatures in vain and hasnot forsaken them. And He has not created them forprofit or to draw off harm through them; rather, Hehas created them to bring them profit and to adjointhem with eternal blessings.”

Nutshell1)Branch of divine knowledge.

2)Behooves us that His action is perfect as possible.

3) Justice is branch of this kind of wisdom.

- God does not connect evil act, lying, deceit or perfidy.

4)God is absolute perfect.
