Presidents Report

There were 4 visitors and prospective new

members at the meeting tonight who between

them owned an array of bikes, including a H4

Indian, Yamahas, Suzuki’s, Kawasaki and

Honda’s.

Bob advised the members of the items that

were discussed at the Committee Meeting on

21st January 2015.

It was decided to change the Charity Run

Route so that there was no need to cross major

Highway’s making it safer for the riders. The

Run will start in Capel and end up along Will-

inge Drive making it a longer Route that did

not cross major Highway’s as in the past cross-

ing Bussell Highway. The Course will be long-

er than previous years, about 48 kms.

Trent Wilkes, a professional photographer is

keen to take some photos of member’s bikes

and will be available on Examination Day to

take photos at no cost to members.

The old honour board will be housed at Norm

Harts to make sure it is kept in good condition,

for the term of his life, and then it will be

passed onto another member.

There will be another constitution drafted to

meet the rules of the Department of Com-

merce. There will be few similarities to our

current constitution because we have to meet

the criteria of the draft set down by the De-

partment of Commerce. The constitution

should be only the main structure of the

Club. A lot of the things we currently have in

our constitution can be put into bylaws.

More effort will be put into The Agricultural

Shows; preparation will be done at least two

months prior, and coordinated by the Publici-

ty Officer.

It was decided to pay the extra money to get

2000 more contacts and upgrade Wild Apri-

cot, after proving that the Website is more

than paying for itself.

The perpetual trophies in the Cabinet at the

BMCC are in need of a clean and could be a

job for a volunteer on Examination Day.

Captains Report

Busso Boys 7-1-2015

Midweek PM 14-1-2015 21 Riders 2 Pas-

sengers

Stirling's Cottage destination today because I

thought it would be cooler sitting under the

shade there. Had a pleasant ride along the

regular route along Government Rd, River

Rd etc., I think I am finally figuring this one

out. Unfortunately sitting under the awnings

at Harvey was pretty hot so after food fin-

ished everyone moved to spot under the

trees. However the ride home was very

warm.

Busso Boys 21-1-2015 18 Riders 2 Passen-

gers

Midweek AM 28-1-2015 23 Riders 4 Pas-

sengers

Hot weather continues but riders are tough. It

was a good turnout for midweek with 10 rid-

ers & 2 passengers from Bunbury, 2 Man-

jimup riders and 11 riders & 2 passengers

from Busselton which included 4 VMCC

visitors. Bunbury had a quick change of

route after the Glen Iris fire restarted forcing

road closures, thanks to John C. who stepped

up and led everyone safely to Kirup where

surprisingly the weather was slightly cooler.

Kate Coleman and I had set up morning tea.

Everyone seemed to be having a good time

because they seemed reluctant to leave.

Thanks to John & Kate for their assistance

and to Darryl for inviting the VMCC visi-

tors.

Busso Boys 4-2-2015

Coastal/Poker Run 8-2-2015 38 Riders 3

Passengers

Today was the Coastal/Poker run organised

by Darryl and this year it was a really fantas-

tic ride. The weather at Capel, our departure

point, was very pleasant. Darryl & Tom his

sidekick had everything well organised I on-

ly had to collect signatures and the all im-

portant MONEY.

We had a short ride thru Ludlow Nth and Tu-

arts to Sensations Café for morning tea

where I think everyone can vouch for the

fresh scones. Then the trek began thru

Busselton, back roads to Dunsborough and

then around the hills of Dunsborough, beau-

tiful winding roads with scenery, lucky we

had route sheets, before heading back in the

direction of Busselton to arrive at Darryl &

Jenny's for a great lunch. Along the way we

had 5 card pick stops to see who got the best

hand at the end. After lunch the group head-

ed back to Capel, as well

6

as a few of Darryl & Jenny's helpers, where

the event concluded. Darryl, Jenny and all

their team did a wonderful job today with the

planning and organising of the event. Thanks

also to Glenda & Ann for back-up for which

they had 1 customer today. Russell Jeffery

and his Ariel! Thanks also to Sharon & Muz-

za handing out the cards for poker hand.

Terry Germain spoke about the Busselton

Rally on 24th-26th January, and said that seven

bikes took part with Darryl Warner winning

the section with the sidecars, and his wife

Jenny getting the prize for the best navigator.

Darryl won a watch worth over $280 donated

by the Honda shop in Busselton, and Jenny

won $100 donated by Terry.

Terry urged members to take part next year

because it is a great run with great prizes.

Murray Rudler spoke about the Australia Day

Breakfast in Boyanup and said that $1500 had

been raised for the RFDS.

Murray will not be organising the event next

year and has asked for volunteers to contact

him, and he will offer any help needed to the

new organisers.

Members applauded to express their apprecia-

tion of Murray & Sharon’s past efforts.

COASTAL POKER RUN 2015

Licensing Liaison Officers Report

There is still no word from the State Govern-

ment in regard to the changes to the conces-

sion 404. Jeff said that he had been speaking

to Peter Boreham the Secretary of the Council

of Motoring Clubs of WA about the Green Pa-

per that was submitted to The State Govern-

ment, showing the members of the CMC’s

opposition to the “No Blame” Insurance.

We have to be careful in our submissions to

the Government not to prejudice the wonder-

ful conditions of the concession 404 that we

have. We may as a Club approach our local

MP, but this will be discussed further at a

Committee Meeting. There was apparently an

Ad on TV by the RAC about the new pro-

posed law which did not mention how much

money the Government will rake in if this is

passed.
