Jake’s Candy Problem!By Jamie Fox

There was a boy named Jake in a small town.

All he wanted to do was eat candy!!!

Jake’s mom and dad did not like the fact that Jake ate a one pound bag

of candy a day. They tried taking Jake’s candy, but Jake had candy stashed in so many

places, in his toy box, dresser, under his bed and all over the house!

Jake’s mom went into Jake’s room and got all the candy from the toy

box, dresser, and under his bed while Jake was taking out the trash. When Jake got done, he went up to

his room. He looked in all the secret places

for his candy. It was all gone!

Jake was very MAD at his mom and dad.

He ran down the stairs like a lion.

Jake asked his parents what they did with all his candy. He had steam coming out of his ears.

His mom explained, “Honey, you don’t need to eat all that candy! It’s unhealthy, so I put it up some

where so you can’t get to it.”

I don’t like YOU!

Jake’s face was as red as fire.Jake yelled at his mom saying,“I don’t like you for putting up

my candy.” That’s when Jake’s dad stepped in and told Jake to go up to his

room NOW!!!

Jake got up to his room, but was still upset.

He decided to draw a picture of his dream world of candy. Then he looked out the window and

saw a shooting star. He made his wish!!

Jake went back to his picture.

In the picture, there was man standing and waving. Jake he was in shock! So Jake jumped into the picture,

escaped down a slide and discovered his dream world of candy. His wish

came true! Jake was going crazy. He was eating all of his favorite candy. He even put candy in his jean pocket and

in his shoes- just in case he wanted candy later.

The man said, “Hey, Jake slow down there, boy.”

Jake grumbled, “What do you know?” The man added, “Follow me I will show you.” They got over by a computer, and Jake got to see what it would be like if he ate too much

candy. Jake was stunned!

Jake cried, “I don’t want to look like that at the age of sixteen with NO teeth and look so old!”

That’s when the man stressed, “Well you know what you have do!”

“

“Yes, I do!” Jake cried. The man snapped his finger and Jake was in his room. Jake was still crying. He ran

down the stairs, and he gave his mom the biggest bear hug.

He told his mom that he was so sorry, and he didn’t mean anything. Jake told

her to throw all the candy away, and she did.

He added “I want to start eating healthy. Jake be came strong and healthy.

Jamie is a junior at the Lawrence County Career and Technical Center. Jamie is enrolled in the Restaurant Trades program, and she is from the Mohawk Area School District.
