• Reduce the amount of disposable tableware by using reusable tableware.• Buy products that can be recycled or are made from recycled materials.• Bring along a reusable tote/shopping bag when you shop.• Recycle holiday cards by reusing them as gift tags for next year.• Donate items that are still in good condition to local shelters and charities.• Recycle your holiday wrapping paper.• Save holiday gift bags and reuse them again next year.

Holiday Waste Reduction Tips

During the holiday season the average household generates between 3-10 bags of excess waste. Remember to plan your holiday festivities with the environment in mind.

On collection day, please place your containers in the street, at the curb, or near the corner of your driveway. Barrel handles should point toward your home. Place your barrels at least two feet away from any obstruction such as a fence, mailbox, or vehicle.

All barrels must be curbside by 6:00 a.m. on your service day.

Holiday Schedule

When the holiday falls on a weekday, collections for the remainder of the week will be delayed by one day. There is no service interruption or delay when the holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday.

If you are 60 years old or older, you might qualify for a discount on your trash bill. Seniors who meet the following requirements should apply:

If you meet these requirements Happy Discount Day! Contact Burrtec Customer Service and forward a copy of your driver’s license or California Identification Card to start receiving your well-deserved Senior Discount.
