JANUARY 13th, 2019 Pictorial History of Orleans County For history lovers, please stop by the Community Room at the Community National Bank in Derby on the Crawford Road from Noon to 3:00 p.m. and take a pictorial stroll through the history of Orleans County. Steven Carpenter and Kathy Carpenter will be hosting a Postcard Show, open to the public, free admission. • View buildings, towns, people and cars that dotted the landscape of Orleans County over the past 100 years. Please note the Bank will be closed Monday, January 21st in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. You’ll be surprised how much the landscape has changed over the years! DAY 4: HERMITAGE AND MUSICThis morning visit the Hermitage (thehermitage.com). This was the home of President Andrew Jackson. The home features artifacts and treasures of the family. Jackson and his beloved wife Rachel are buried on the grounds. Enjoy some free time in Nashville. Dinner this evening includes a session with a local song writer. DAY 1: HEADING TO MUSIC CITYTransfer to the Manchester airport this morning. Here you will board your flight toNashville. Upon arrival in theVolunteerState meet your tour director and take the short ride to your ho-tel. Check into your balcony/atrium room at the Opryland Hotel (Marriott.com/Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center) for the next four nights. This evening enjoy a welcome dinner in Nashville. DAY 2: NASHVILLE SIGHTSEEINGMeet your singer/songwriter tour guide for a unique look at Nashville. You will hear about the music industry and what it takes to make a name for yourself in the music business. You will alsoseesightssuchasCentennialPark,theParthenon,Vander-bilt University, Music Row, the State Capitol, Bicentennial Park, Tootsie’s Purple Orchid, Hatch Printing, Ft. Nashboro and more. DAY 3: LEGENDS AND STARSStart the day with a visit to Studio B. More number one hits have been recorded here than in any other studio in the world. Greats like Elvis Presley, Dolly Parton and Eddie Arnold have all re-corded here. You will also see Elvis’ favorite musical instrument, a beautiful baby grand piano. You can even play it. Later today walk through the artifacts and memorabilia of dozens of coun-try artists at the Country Music Hall of Fame. You have time to explore Nashville this afternoon.
