American Central Transport, Inc. January — March 2017 ACT Plaza Opens in May BY: Phil Wilt, President & C.O.O. ACT ION L INE Much work and planning has taken place in the design and development of the new ACT Plaza. All of this has been done with our drivers in mind. The ACT Plaza in- cludes our Corporate Office, Maintenance Facility, Training Center and Services Center. To me the most exciting part is the new things we will be able to offer from the Services Center for our drivers, office associates and maintenance staff. The Services Center will be open 24 hours a day providing you with that home away from home feel and experience. It will just require you to use your company identification badge which will open the door facing south towards the Maintenance Facility. Once inside the building you will find the following: Café with seating for up to 50 individuals. You will find a variety of spaces to relax in from booths to high top ta- bles. All of the booths have charging stations built in for your I-Phone or Android devices. All you need is your ca- ble and you can charge the device while relaxing. This ar- ea also has vending machines with a variety of fresh sand- wiches, fruits, drinks and the traditional salty and sweet items. Fresh coffee will always be available along with filtered water and ice. This area has three TV’s streaming news, weather and ACT TV which will keep you up to date on things happening at ACT. An additional TV watching area is provided in this area as well. Fitness Center has treadmills, elliptical, recumbent bike, rowing machine, stretching machine, free weights and a bench. Laundromat has three washers and dryers for use. There is a charge of $1.00 per load to help offset cost. Detergent and fabric softener is also available for a small charge. Showers are available for use. Three separate private rooms are available with a shower, sink and a stool at no charge. They were designed with floor to ceiling tile and will be cleaned on a regular schedule by our housekeeping staff. Quiet Room provides a place for you to come in with no sound and to be able to relax or decompress. It will have recliners and chase lounge chairs for your comfort. We do ask for your assistance in not using your phones in this area out of respect for others using this space to relax. ACT Plaza Rooms are private sleeping rooms. Six plaza rooms are available for reservations. Each room has a double bed, night stand and chair. If you want to get out of the truck for a night, this is a great option for only $30.00 per night. Company drivers who have their trucks in the shop overnight and not available will be able to stay in a plaza room at no charge. Patio is located on the south side of the building. Seating for up to 40 is available with a smoking and nonsmoking section. We can hardly wait for all of us to be back on one piece of property here in Kansas City. This new building doubles the size of our current Liberty location. This is because of all of the amenities that have just been described. Besides this great line up of services, I am also pleased that we will see each other more often. We are a family company and everyone being known and heard is a big deal to me and our management team. This will allow you to talk with your Driver Support Manager or any other team member to answer your questions, concerns or just to catch up. The office side will be open during normal busi- ness hours Monday through Friday. We will always honor our “open door policy.” This really does mean that you can freely walk around the building and talk to anyone. A building dedication is set for Tuesday, June 6 th at this location. We will be celebrating the opening of the ACT Plaza with lunch from June 6th through June 9th. If you are in the area please stop by and experience the new ACT Plaza. Take care and Safe Trucking! Phil

ACTIONLINE

Much work and planning has taken place in the design and development of the new ACT Plaza. All of this has been done with our drivers in mind. The ACT Plaza in-cludes our Corporate Office, Maintenance Facility, Training Center and Services Center.

Once inside the building you will find the following:

Café with seating for up to 50 individuals. You will find a variety of spaces to relax in from booths to high top ta-bles. All of the booths have charging stations built in for your I-Phone or Android devices. All you need is your ca-ble and you can charge the device while relaxing. This ar-ea also has vending machines with a variety of fresh sand-wiches, fruits, drinks and the traditional salty and sweet items.
