REESOR LAKEA large spr ing ‐ fed water body located 20 km southeast of the Elkwater town s i te . I t serves f i shermenyear round and prov ides idea l camping.
Winter/Summer Act iv i t ies ‐ Downhi l l sk i ing , Cross ‐country sk i ing , Canoeing , Kayaking , Snowshoeing .
Fi sh ‐ Northern Pike, Yel low Perch, Brook Trout, Ra inbow Trout.

The geo log ica l story of the area began 70 mil l ion years ago dur ingthe Cretaceous Period. At that t ime most of southern Alberta wascovered by the warm, sha l low Bearpaw Sea. S i l t and c lay sett led ontothe sea f loor and compressed into sha le now ca l led the BearpawFormation.
Throughout i ts geo log ica l history l i v ing creatures havef lour ished in the area . Many of these creatures have been foss i l i zedand remain. There i s evidence of marine mollusks , amoni tes , bacu l i tes , Tr iceratops and sabre ‐ toothed t igers .
