EL GUARDIÁN DE LA FLOR DE LOTO Adventure Novel (The Guardian of the Lotus Flower) Andrés Pascual
The murder in Harvard of an important Lama doctor called Logsan
Singay, just a few hours before he was due to give a conference in
which he was to reveal to the Western World the extraordinary
secrets of Tibetan medicine, uncovers a conspiracy which could
threaten the survival of the Tibetan people.
Jacobo is a young Spanish sympathiser of the Tibetan cause who
after years of living in the jungles of Peru is in the middle of a
personal and sentimental crisis, when he receives an order from his
girlfriend’s father. Martha’s father, Malcolm Farewell is an English
industrialist and tireless supporter of the Tibetan cause living in
India. Jacobo is to supervise the repatriation of the Lama doctor’s body back to the
exiled Tibetan government based in the Indian town of Dharamsala.
By helping in this way, Jacobo inadvertently becomes a piece of the puzzle, and as the
story unfolds, is the only person able to solve the conspiracy. Like the classical heroes,
he is guided by supernatural powers and a renewed personal commitment.
In order to expose the murderers and discover their true intentions Jacobo will have to
fight the most extreme groups of the government in exile, as well as the Red Faith, a
sect which dangerously mixes its own particular view of Buddhism with claims for
independence. This sect is the main suspect of the death of the Lama doctor.
Jacobo is attacked but brought back to life thanks to the techniques that Logsan Singay
was going to reveal in Boston. This marks the beginning of his physical and spiritual
healing and allows him to unearth the real reasons that made him grow apart from
Martha and their daughter, Louise, who has suffered from a chronic illness since she
was a baby.
Following the clues that he finds in Dharamsala, Jacobo enters illegally into occupied
Tibet and defying the army of Beijing travels to the western militarised region bordering
Cachemire. He is on the trail of one of the terma (treasures) hidden by the master
Buddhist Padmasambhava in the 7th. Century: the Treaty of Magic of Ancient Tibet, a
legendary scroll from which Logsan Singay, the Lama doctor learnt all his wisdom.
Jacobo continues his quest with the help of a Lama called Gyentse and a group of
nomad warriors belonging to the ethnic group kampa. Together they have to confront
not only the army but also the irrepressible nature of the Himalayas, finding themselves
forced to cross the mountain range on foot.
It’s just possible that at the end of their journey they will come face to face with a truth
whose dimensions they had never even imagined.
An action-packed journey, full of intrigue, poetry and love which transports the reader
to a magical universe where all problems have a solution in the eyes of the Tibetan
philosophy of life and the world.

L’ENVOL DES FAUCONS #1 (Le Reseau Ambassador series) THE FLIGHT OF THE FALCONS Political / Action Thriller Mark Zellweger In the tradition of Seven
Following the successful operation in Libya, Mark Walpen has
added a geostrategic wing to his marketing strategy consultancy.
It now receives calls from a number of governments: the SICB
(Sword International Crisis Board), currently the only non-
governmental secret service organization in the world. It is backed
by an operations team, the Falcons.
His father, Max Walpen, remains at his side as a part-time co-
director of the Sword International Crisis Board. Following the
Libya rescue mission, he has launched an intelligence network
based at Swiss Embassies worldwide, “The Ambassador
Network.” This network provides information that is later assessed by the team of
experts at the Sword International Crisis Board.
While Max, Mark, and his twins Zoe and Elliott are enjoying a holiday break in Crete,
Franco-Swiss tourists are kidnapped in Egypt.
Simultaneously, Europe is suddenly shaken by a series of booby-trapped envelope
bombs that explode at different embassies and cause a panic.
An enigmatic and unknown ALA, Arab Liberation Army, claims responsibility for all
these attacks. The ALA demands that the laws banning the wearing of the burka in
various countries be abolished along with the law prohibiting the construction of
minarets in Switzerland. It does not take long to establish shadowy ties between certain
individuals in Switzerland, Egypt and Dubai.
Since the Swiss government wishes to avoid being pinpointed, and does not have any
foreign intelligence resources, it asks the Walpen father and son team to look into the
situation and bring it to an end.
Meanwhile, a Swiss Airlines aircraft bound for Muscat (Oman) is hijacked in Dubai.
The Falcons are all over the place, tracking those responsible for these attacks – who are
not necessarily who we would expect. At the last minute, they will have to foil a
diabolical terrorist plot with the potential for threatening worldwide consequences.
It is a thrilling, all-too-real novel full of unexpected twists and turns, and the suspense
holds to the final pages.

LA BRISA DE ORIENTE Historical Novel (The Eastern Breeze) Paloma Sánchez-Garnica
Year 1204 and Umberto de Quéribu, a young white monk, together
with his abbot and another monk set off on a journey to
Constantinople. From this instant on Umberto’s life changes
completely, from the protection and peace of the walls of the cloister
he is dragged into dangers and extreme situations which cause him
to shed all vestige of his childlike innocence and the fatuous
ignorance of immaturity.
During his journey he discovers the injustices of war,
disproportionate violence and the immorality of greed, but he also
comes to realise what the real effects of blind and unquestioning
obedience are, as well as confronting the enormous doubt to know what is right and
what is wrong as he finds himself caught up in a never ending struggle between what he
has been taught and what he is really living. He will moved by an uncontrollable,
adolescent love and suffer the anxiety of his pangs of guilt and he will experience the
deepest feelings of helplessness, of friendship and the bitterness of a resentment nutured
for years until it determines a whole life.
When everything around him seems to be falling apart he meets Esteban of Clary, a
disillusioned knight from the crusades on his way home, without any idea of what he
will find when he arrives. The two men forge a firm friendship which lasts until death.
Back in the refuge of his monastery he learns from Roger what the true meaning of
culture is, the importance of the written word and the influence and power that a
scribe’s hand has to manipulate, alter or change a document. His unwitting approach
towards heresy puts his life in danger and he is forced to abandon the monastery alone,
after having seen disaster sown all around him.
And so an unswerving faith in his own principles forged from reason together with an
urge to build a place where a simple moral harmony reigns will shape the life of this
white monk until the very moment of his death, when he hands over a manuscript
contaning his memoirs to Ubertino, one of his most trustworthy monks.
A superb view of the medieval Europe. Without riddles or Templars, this wonderful novel refers to classics of this genre as legendary as “The Name of the Rose”.

FRANCISCO J. DE LYS
EL LABERINTO DE ORO Thriller/Mystery (The Labyrinth of Gold) Francisco J. de Lys
The plot of the novel THE LABYRINTH OF GOLD starts at nine
o’clock on the eve of Halloween, and the characters live Halloween
night minute by minute while they move around Barcelona until the
story ends the day after, at the end of the Day of the Dead.
This novel updates and mixes the old classic environment of the
Halloween nights around November 1st that are reflected in Don
Juan Tenorio from José Zorrilla with the current Irish and Anglo-
Saxon aesthetic of Halloween that has become so strongly rooted in
our popular culture.
The story line of THE LABYRINTH OF GOLD has as a background element the
literature topic: the Pact with the Devil. But, unlike all the other books where the human
character, makes an agreement with an evil, in the LABYRINTH OF GOLD, the
protagonist Gabriel Grieg gets wrapped up in a strange affair due to a carelessly signed
document, which, as the years pass, turns into a fatally dangerous paper. This is one of
the storyline’s main driving forces and draws the reader in.
In this labyrinth of strange occurrences, which traps the protagonists like a giant spider
web, the most hidden away places in Barcelona’s secretive world related to the 20th
century’s best alchemist Fulcanelli and his unfinished masterpiece Finish Cloriae
Mundi, the secret symbols that hide the mythological planning of Barcelona’s Ensanche
neighborhood designed by Ildefons Cerdá and the secret world of alchemy come into
the spotlight. Attention is also drawn to the six phases that the material must undergo
before being turned into alchemical gold and the most dazzling modernist jewels.
That documentation continue with a series of real murders in Barcelona in the 19th
century. A monk librarian committed several murders, all of them booksellers, to make
off with some satanic books and books about making alchemical gold.
The plot uses the fact that making alchemical gold with a linear particle accelerator at
CERN is no longer considered chimerical but rather absolutely real as a counterpoint.
Both male and female protagonists, Gabriel Grieg and Lorena, which are thrown into
the midst of incredible events… At the end, they will prove to be a part of a perfectly
arranged plot where all the characters are real in a real world, and everything follows
logical rules, leaving no room for fantasy.

EL ALFABETO DE BABEL Thriller/Mystery Novel (Babel’s Alphabet) Francisco J. de Lys
In the city of Barcelona completely shrouded by fog, Gabriel Grieg,
architect and restorer of historic monuments receives a strange visit
from a beautiful and mysterious woman who imparts some
disturbing news.... She warns him that he has just 24 hours to thwart
his own destiny, before the exhumation of a body involves him
directly with an Important Object, classified as “utmost secret in the
Vatican Archives”. Those who know of its existence conceal it
under the name of: THE CHARTHAM.
The Chartham not only governs the hierarchy of the papal Curia, its
groups of power and their influence but whoever has control of the
secrets it holds will gain direct access to its spiritual and material treasures as well as to
any successive keys and conclaves and all of these are enigmatically disguised in the
painting “THE TOWER OF BABEL” painted by the Dutch artist Pieter Brueguel “the
old man” in 1563.
The plot is full of unexpected twists and as the characters move through dozens of the
most hidden away places of Barcelona they become involved in a spiral of events
which will lead them to the discovery of a treacherous coup by proxy which a fraction
of the Papal Curia is planning to carry out on the site of the Expiatory Temple of the
Sagrada Familia. The shady interests of a Machiavellian cardinal, the intrigues of several
Japanese companies, the spurious plan of an enigmatic and secret group of religious
woman whose founder in 1524 received Ignacio de Loyola in her mansion in Barcelona
and the initiation mysteries of Antoni Gaudí Cornet are all somehow tied up with the
coup.
The continual presence throughout the book of allegoric symbols together with the
disturbing, underlying struggle which arises between the the powers of light and
darkness results in characters who without doubt leave an impression well beyond that
of merely formal individuals in an historic mystery novel as they become immersed in a
gripping story full of narrative strength and spirituality.

1st Century BC. Following his revolt against Sila and after having been forced to find refuge in Africa, the Roman general Quinto Sertorio is now advancing unopposed through the Iberian Peninsula. The Lusitanians have joined forces with his army and there are very few who dare to present a challenge despite the growing rumour that Rome has assembled an army under the command of
Pompey the Great, in an attempt to put an end to the general. Contrebia Leucade, the White City, is the jewel of the Celtiberian kingdom. Built on the edge of a cliff, it is almost impregnable. The city is governed by a council controlled by Ambon, a warlord who years earlier had come face to face with Sertorio on the battlefield. Ambon harbours an intense hatred towards the general, so when Sertorio and his army appear at the gates of Contrebia, demanding payment of a high monetary tribute, Ambon gives the order to resist, whatever the cost. He has no wish to become involved in a Roman civil war and he knows that time is on his side. Sertorio lays siege to the city but the key to the resistance or fall of the last Celtiberian stronghold lies in Ambon’s young son, Kalaitos and a slave, who had arrived in Contrebia shortly before the siege; a man who is not what he appears to be and upon whom the future of Hispania will depend.

LAS CUMBRES DEL NILO (The Headwaters of the Nile) Josep A. Pujante Travel/Adventure
Pharaohs, kings and emperors all went in search of the mythical
sources of the great river which gave life to the civilizations of
Egypt and Nubia over 5000 years ago…… but hostile tribes, wild
animals and illness prevented anyone from going further than the VI
waterfall until in the XVIII Century the source of the Blue Nile was
discovered. In contrast, the source of the White Nile was to remain
hiden until explorers and adventurers managed to locate it in the
legendary Mountains of the Moon, whose waters flow into Lake Victoria.
A great expert on the dark continent, Josep A. Pujante, in his book The Headwaters of
the Nile tells the emotional and thrilling story of the expedition that together with his
friends Agustí and Marcos, he embarks upon through the impenetrable and gloomy
jungles located between the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda, where the
Rwenzori mountains rise up, deep within the heart of darkest Africa. After many
difficulties, the three of them manage to reach the permanently snow-capped summit,
snows which gives rise to the White Nile. Four years after having scaled this peak and
just as they were planning an expedition to the sacred mount Gish in Ethiopia, Agustí
dies in a tragic climbing accident in Pedraforca. Overcome by his grief, Josep travels
alone to Africa four months later and scales the summit of Mount Gish. A year
afterwards Josep and Marcos conquer together the same summit and place the ashes of
their lost friend there, at the source of the Blue Nile.
A tribute to friendship after death, a posthumous homage to Agustí. This true story
takes place in the remote wilderness of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda
and Rwanda, places through which exploreres such as Burton, Speke, Baker,
Livingstone and Stanley ventured; lake Tana, Yibuti and Axum, where the queen of
Saba resided and where perhaps the secret of the Ark of the Covenant lies hiden…..

EL REVERSO Suspense /Adventure Novel (The Reverse) Carlos Calvera
At the end of the Second World War, while the world sleeps far from
the events that would lead to the Jewish Holocaust, the Argentine
boat Amindra, with a load of six thousand tons of frozen meat and a
mysterious fossil shut away in its cellars, embarks on its last journey
to Europe.
Soon, a series of unexplainable events begin to take place in the
immense cold-storage chamber that make the crew uneasy and
escalate as the ship goes deeper into the solitude of the ocean.
In a claustrophobic atmosphere, without knowing the true nature of the load they’re
carrying and with the crew on the verge of a riot, Captain Rainiez, his daughter and a
dark official fallen from grace face the biggest challenge of their lives: surviving the
breakthrough of an unknown entity that is trying to take over the ship to make its
presence known.
Parallel to these events, while Allied aviation destroys the German city of Dresden, an
old professor of Theology and his young apprentice will reveal little by little the
mystery of an ancient Jewish prophecy related to the fossil that both they and the other
protagonists will end up serving as instruments of destiny…
The Reverse has a double plot that is doomed to converge. Written in cabalistic code, it
will only show its true nature at the end of the story, a nature that without a doubt shows
the reader where fiction and reality lie in a world twisted by fantasy and cruelty.

who owns it shall attain an unlimited power.
In the Vienna of 1912, a young man called Adolph Hitler, whose
goal in life is to become a painter, discovers a great relic that has
been coveted by historical personalities, among them Charlemagne
and Napoleon who after the annexation of Austria comes back to
Vienna to take hold of the Sacred Spear being convinced that it shall
help him in his military campaigns.
To find the spear they turn to a little girl that earns her life as a fortune-teller performing
mentalists acts in a Berliner cabaret and that now shall be compelled to act in a mission
that surpasses her but at the same time makes her to master her extra sensorial
capacities.
Parallel to this, Mr. Winston Churchill has begun to behave in a strange way. He wakes
up in the middle of the night to paint odd gothic pictures – being in a somnambulist
state – they hide a key: the Sacred Spear

I. BIGGI
LA FÓRMULA STRADIVARIUS Historical Thriller (The Stradivarius Formula) I. Biggi
Antonio Stradivarius was the most famous luthier of all time. The
violins he created were unique, capable of giving out a perfect
sound. In the year 1680, in the middle of the night a mysterious man
visits Stradivarius to commission a wonderful work: to make twelve
string instruments whose melodies will open the gates of Heaven.
In 2003, inspector Herrero investigates the brutal murder of a
wealthy Greek ship owner living in Madrid. At the same time an
apparently motiveless attack in the apartment of a young doctor in
Geneva alarms the city authorities. Is it possible that these two
seemingly isolated crimes are related to the secret visitor that
Stradivarius received that night more than three centuries before?
From Cremona to Geneva, Jerusalem and the nazi extermination camps a huge
conspiracy stretches out across time. Nail biting suspense and action are the main
ingredients of The Stradivarius Formula, a book in which I. Biggi surprises the readers
with a plot which interweaves history, religion and a music which is as heavenly as it is
dangerous.

J. CARLOS MARTÍN LEROY
EL ANILLO DE HIERRO (The Iron Ring) Historical Novel
J. Carlos Martín Leroy
The treacherous assassins of Viriato have gone down in history
under the names of Audax, Minuro and Ditalco. But who really hid
under these names?
Juan Carlos Martin Leroy proposes us a suggestive hypothesis under
the form of a wide report in which genres and styles merge, tells us
the moving life of one of them, Audax, whose real name was Tito
Vibio Scirpus. The antecedents of his participation in Viriato’s
murder carry us to another culminating moment in the history of
those years, that of the facing of the roman consular army
commanded by Manilo Manilio backed by Censorino’s fleet, and the Carthaginian army
of Asdrubal that culminates with the great siege of Escipio Aemilianus and the
destruction of Carthage. All these facts shape an impressive mosaic of the military ups
and downs of the Empire during the decade of the years 149 to 139 BC.
This is novel with a big amount of registers and a high narrative tension. Martin Leroy
shows an exhaustive and deep knowledge of the epoch in which the plot develops and
its characters as well as an extraordinary talent and a wish to subvert the most trite
codes of historical narrative thus offering us a work directed to renew this genre in the
Spanish literature.
The story is violent, amusing, moving, scholarly and of a very solid realism that takes
command of the reader and shakes him emotionally. An splendid historical novel.
