Since Memorial Day was so early in May for 2015, at the time of this Newsletter it is well over a week’s gone by. However, from all of us at Tustin Ranch, we’d like to thank and honor the Men and Women, past and present, who serve, or have served, our country and protect our freedoms. We have so much to be thankful for as friends and family members have protected our country and individual rights; and definitely the freedom to speak, to pursue opportunity, and to live and recreate as we choose, are all great benefits of freedom we enjoy because of the commitment of those to our country and its inherent qualities. In June, we continue with many of our long-time traditions in the U.S., and for Tustin Ranch, including Music Under the Stars, Father’s Day and Sunday Brunch, the U.S. Open, summer Junior play programs, and 4th of July / Independence Day right around the corner; and our new opportunities as well to enjoy Tustin Ranch including Men’s and Ladies play day opportunities, Nine & Wine events, Scotch & Cigars, B,B,&B on the Driving Range Thursday Nights, in addition to our current Tacos on Tuesday and Wednes-day Jazz Nights. Always opportunities for members, local neighbors, and guests to come out and join our team to enjoy our facilities and surroundings in the heart of Orange County. We hope to see you all at the golf course soon. We continue to work hard at our water conservation efforts in the current CA drought, and will always be a contributor since golf course our irrigation is “100% with recycled water since 1988.” However, water is water, and through the environmental cycles and groundwater regeneration, this water eventually makes it back into the cycle and contributes to the overall supplies available. So, we are currently working on removing 5+ acres of turf and overhead irrigation, to be replaced with drought tolerant landscape trees and shrubs all irrigated with underground drip systems. This first project in 6 out-of-play areas around the golf course
is slated to be completed by June 30th and is hoped to save upwards of 10+ acre feet of water per year. It is the first in many steps we are working on to be a part of water conservation. We currently will be serving water in the restaurant only as requested, and early in June will have completed the installation of no-flush urinals in the restrooms. These efforts, though not extremely sig-nificant, will reduce our overall consumption by 1,000’s of gallons per year. We hope to continue participating in all programs where possible. In addition, we congratulate Esteban Toledo on his 2nd place finish at the Senior PGA Championship. We’re glad to see his hard work with PGA Director of Instruction, Erik Horve, and the Golf School at Tustin Ranch continues to pay dividends. We wish Esteban continued success throughout the 2015 season. We hope you all will take advantage as well of the top-quality instruction available in our golf school. Erik and our team of five PGA and Apprentice Instructors offer all levels of options to meet your needs for game improvement. Check them out the next time you visit the range. Finally, we again are thankful for all the freedoms we enjoy in the United States and working in the great game of golf; and for the opportunities we have to provide services to our members, regular players, guests and the community. We look forward to your next visit. Sincerely, Steve Plummer, General Manager
