CONTENTS REMINDERS NOTICES
Just wanted you to know about our Newsletter process
The activity leaders send to the club a brief description of what they want to put in.
The office staff pulls together the information on all articles, they also provide a list of birthdays, new members, condolences and get wells. Then they send it to the newsletter editor for them to enter all information.
The editor then sends to get proofed by people chosen by the Board of Directors. When the editor makes the corrections that are needed, the editor sends to the City to add their articles. As soon as the City adds everything they need, they send over to the printer. When the printer is done, our office staff makes labels and gets the postage paid for. As soon as they have everything ready, the folding crew comes in and puts labels on and folds to get ready to mail to you. We try real hard to get it to you on time, however sometimes there is a delay and for that we apologize.
Thanks, Concord Senior Citizens Club

BOOK LIBRARY: If you come in and check out books, please make sure you bring them back for everyone to enjoy. We have not been getting a lot of our books back, so that makes our inventory low. Please make sure you return as soon as you are done. DINNER EVENTS: Our monthly Friday night dinner has been increasing in numbers. We are trying to provide you with different foods and hope that you all enjoy as much as we do. Since Katie has retired, we have had to get our food catered, which seems to be working our very well. If you haven’t been to a dinner in a while, please come and enjoy. CHANGES COMING: The Board of Directors have been working on some new things that will be coming up. As of January 1st, we will no longer be using styrofoam cups or plates. The City of Concord has banned all use of styrofoam in any restaurant or facility serving meals. This will change our coffee costs and plate costs. We are trying to make it work, so that we won’t have to raise prices, but we might not have a choice. BIRTHDAY LUNCH: Starting in August, we will be changing the Birthday lunch to the 4th Thursday of the month instead of the 3rd Thursday. The Board of Directors decided to change this because the people who volunteer for the Birthday Lunch also volunteer for the Friday night dinner. This makes it real hard for them because they are in the same week, so it was easier to move the Birthday lunch then the dinner.

Sing, Unburied, Sing By Jesmyn Ward
A road novel, an epic of three generations and the ghosts that haunt them, and a portrait of what ordinary folk in dire circumstances cleave to as well as what they — and perhaps we all — are
trying to outrun.
