HOUSE ON JEE COUNSELLING I IT Bhubaneswar success fu l ly
organized an Open House, JEE Coun-
selling and Interaction meeting on 18
June 2019, for the benefit of IIT aspi-
rants, in particular, those who qualified
in JEE (Advanced) 2019 and for those
who will be appearing in 2020. More
than 150 students/parents actively par-
ticipated in the counselling session.
The session started with welcome note
by the Chairman, JEE Cell, IIT Bhubaneswar. Prof. R. V. Rajakumar, Di-
rector IIT Bhubaneswar welcomed the students and parents to IIT
Bhubaneswar and congratulated the JEE (Adv.) qualified students for
their commendable achievement. He gave an in-depth overview into the
evolution of the IIT system in India including a brief talk on the 1st,
2nd and 3rd generation IITs, and IIT education in general.
He also mentioned in detail about the philosophy of IIT‟s as they believe
in not just creating an engineer by profession but a noteworthy
personality. He emphasized that the UG education in IIT‟s is at par with
any of the global class institutions in the world. He also briefly spoke
about the rapid strides being made by IIT Bhubaneswar on several fronts,
including education, infrastructure, research, and about the innovative
steps such as foreign origin faculty engagement.

day workshop on Algebra & Analysis Srinagar, June 18: Three day workshop on 'Algebra and
Analysis' organised by the Department of Mathematics,
School of Physical and Chemical Sciences, Central
University of Kashmir (CUK) began at Nowgam-I
academic block of the varsity here on Tuesday.

Dean School of Physical and Chemical Science, Prof. Wali
Muhammad Shah thanked the administration for their
support for holding the event. He said the department of
mathematics is contemplating to organise such workshops
in future as well.

Singh said that mathematics has to be understood
systematically.
Director Research and Development, Prof. Abdul Gani said
that there are two aspects of mathematics, one is
discovering it and another is teaching.
Adjunct faculty, Prof. M.A Sofi said that mathematics is a
multi-dimensional subject and one has to look at it through
different angles.

A. Katake conducted the programme proceedings while as
Assistant Professor, Dr. Aftab Hussain proposed the vote of
thanks. The inaugural was followed by technical sessions,
chaired by resource persons.

JMI student part of Indian team for
CYBATHLON 2020 to be held at Switzerland Fahad Mehfuz, student of B.Tech. (Mechanical
Engineering) IV Semester has been selected to be
a part of Indian team participating in an
International Competition CYBATHLON 2020
to be held at ETH-Zurich, Switzerland on 2-3
May 2020.
The CYBATHLON is a unique championship in
which persons having physical disabilities
compete against each other to complete everyday
tasks using state-of-art technical assistance
systems. This is the second edition of the International Competition, first one held in 2016.
The competition has six different disciplines (Brain-Computer Interface, Functional
Electrical Simulation Bike Race, Powered Arm Prosthesis Race, Powered Leg Prosthesis
Race, Powered Exoskeleton Race, Powered Wheelchair Race) in which teams from various
countries participate.
The Indian team by the name GenElekTech is participating in Powered Exoskeleton Race
discipline. GenEleck Technologies has also been selected as one of the incubate at
Electroprenur park of Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of
India. Fahad Mehfuz is also an intern in this company. This team aims to produce an af-
fordable exoskeleton for paraplegics in India or other developing countries around the
world. Since 2018 the team has been developing the technology with which they will par-
ticipate in the CYBATHLON 2020.

Rathinam College have signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Texvalley Market Limited
Department of Costume Design and Fashion Technology, Rathinam Col-
lege of Arts and Science have signed Memorandum of Understanding
(MoU) with Texvalley Market Limited, Erode on (11.06.2019). Memoran-
dum of Understanding have signed in front of Mrs. G. Mano Prabha Head,
Department of CDF, Dr. R. Muralitharan Principal and Mr. D.P. Kumar
(Texvalley Market Limited).
OBJECTIVES OF MoU:
Based on the principles and guidelines of the MoU organization
and institutional partner will give the skill development, co-
operation, collaboration, workshop, exhibition and development
in the field.
Internship, Placement training and Entrepreneurship develop-
ment for Rathinam |College students.
Both organization and institutional partner will promote the
system through regional, national and international level.
According to development of trends in Design and Fashion, stu-
dents will be train with new techniques and updated software.
State level and national level projects will be funding by the or-
ganization and institution especially for the Rathinam College
students.

31Students placed with the package of 8.5

DKTE Society‟s Textile and Engineering Institute, Ichalkaranji has placed
31 final year B.Text students of 2018-19 batch with an annual package of
8.5 lakhs in „Noize Jeans‟. Noize Jeans, is the most modern, automatic
garmenting and the fastest growing Jeans company in Bangladesh. Noize
Jeans is a multinational company and has its manufacturing plants in
Dhaka, Spain and United Kingdom. The plant at Dhaka is involved in
manufacturing of denim fabrics, jeans, jackets and shirts. It supplies
fabrics to major international brands like Baraksha, Zhara, Mango, Etam
and Springfield.
Out of these 31 students 28 are from textile engineering and 3 are from
other branches of engineering. The company experts visited DKTE and
after checking the students talent in different rounds the selection was
done. First
round is of aptitude test, the shortlisted students then undergo two rounds
namely pre-selection and final selection and then the selection was done.

DEVELOPING AND MANAGING
EFFICIENT GARBAGE DISPOSAL SYSTEM J.B. Institute of Engineering & Tech-
nology took the init iative in
“Developing And Managing Efficient
Garbage Disposal System”, at Jeevan-
guda (Moinabad Mandal under Chev-
ella MP Consitutency) on phased wise
manner. Establishment of garbage
disposals in the village was done by the
students and proper awareness is
created about cleanliness and Swachh
Bharath.
As soon as NSS students analyzed the problems faced by the villagers,
they initiated the Swatch Bharath program by cleaning the roads, school
and its surroundings. After that students conducted the awareness program
about the hazards of polythene bags, and the alternatives of the polythene
bags. They also took the responsibility to teach the villagers about various
streams in waste management like, to separate the organic and inorganic
waste, and how the organic waste can
be used to make natural manure, recy-
cling of the inorganic waste.
JBIET students took up the biggest
initiative by implementing the
plantation program in the school and
some other public places in the village
and they also created awareness among
the students by educating them about
ground water level and how plants play
an important role in it. Students built a
composed pit in the village which can
be accessed by everyone of the village.

Award” award from the Thailand
Country.
He awarded the “International Young
Scientist Award from the International
Research Scholars awarded in the
Research Centre Goa. He published
papers in international and national
journals, and papers in international
conference like IIT Madras, attended
many workshops and seminars,
He also got “Best Paper Award” from
the IIT Madras, and he got “Best Ap-
preciation” from IISc Banglore from
the considerd work in AMIE (IEI) Cen-
tre Kalaburagi, and also he got many
awards in private sectors. From the
point of research many corporate re-
lated to technology made him as associ-
ate membership in their body like cor-
porate membership in “INSTITUTION
OF ENGINEERS INDIA”, “AIPCEU”,
“UACSE” and “ISTE” IARDO, and
many other bodies he has membership.

Ujjawl Mandhane will do the research work on
“composite with natural fibers and features .For this pro-
ject he will get opportunity to work on the advanced
technology machines of Librez University, Zec Republic.

e-Yantra Robotics Lab-setup at DBCE
e-Yantra is a project hosted by IIT Bombay (IITB) to spread
education in Embedded systems and Robotics in colleges across
India and sponsored by MHRD through NMEICT.
DBCE was a local centre for a 2-Day workshop, organized by
IITB e-Yantra team on “Introduction to Robotics” for training
around 60 teachers from various colleges across India.
A team of four faculty members: Prof. Flavia Leitao (Team
Leader), Prof. Yeshudas Muttu, Prof. Mathilda Colaco & Prof.
Deron Rodrigues (Team members) from the Electronics &
Telecommunication department of DBCE, were chosen to be
the e-Yantra team of DBCE.
This initiative of engaging with e-Yantra is to empower teach-
ers and students to create a culture of innovation and entrepre-
neurship in our college.

Cultural Night „Meraki-2019‟ was organized on 27th March, 2019. It was amalgamation
singing and dancing competition amongst MBICT students. In this Competition, Mrs.
Sangati Mehta Vora; Sangeet Visharad, was invited as judge for singing competition.
Mr.Jimmy Gajjar; a renowned Choreographer, was called as judge for dancing competition.
Rtn. Uma Patel; President, Rotary Club and Rtn. Gaurav Bhatt were invited as chief guests
in cultural night. Fashion Show was also showcased which was sponsored by BIBA and
SHUBHLAXMI. „Divided by colleges and united by techfest‟- was a united performance
by BVM, GCET, ADIT and MBICT students.
The Concert Night called „Malang-2019‟ was held on 28th March, 2019 to entertain
students. The famous band called „Dual Vibes‟ throbbed the stage and captivated the hearts
of youngsters. Smt. Ashaben Dalal; President, Jagrut Mahila Sangthan, Anand, graced the
concert night as chief guest.

Mechanical Students win 2 nd Place in FSIE All
India Project Expo The Mechanical Engineering students of Don Bosco College of
Engineering, Fatorda won 2 nd place in Fire and Security India
Expo (FSIE), organised by Fire and Security Association of
India (FSAI) from 28th February 2019 to 2nd March 2019 at
Bombay Exhibition Center, Andheri. The students presented a
project “Design and Fabrication of Disabled Friendly
wheelchair”. The project aims to help physically challenged
people in standing, sleeping and maintaining a comfortable pos-
ture. The conceptual, mechanical design and fabrication was carried out by Mr. Deepak S
Kolur, Mr. Saideep T Naik, Mr. Anay Kalghatgi, Mr. Vinay U. Naik and Mr. Prashant P.
Gaokar under the guidance of Prof Swapnil Ramani and Prof Ajit Salunke.
