Saturday 23rd June was our trip planned for Uruti. We’ve been there before and we knew that at this time of the year it was going to be sloppy….

But it didn’t stop Marcel from ordering a bit more rain, only problem was he forgot to cancel the order before we went. We met at 7.30am and headed off.

Having unloaded at the end of the road we went to put the tow vehicles into the paddock.

We started out needing to tow the tow vehicles just to get them into the paddock.

We set off onto one of the main tracks and proceeded to take 3/4 of the day to get there and back…. And it really wasn’t that far!!!

We waded through the slop. Having winched, towed, dug a bit, pushed and pulled, we were having a great time in the Uruti mud/papa.

It tends to get very slippery (a bit of an understatement) on the papa but the area is very good for what we want to do!!

We found a spot for lunch,

although not necessarily a dry one… There was time to do one more short track, so off we went. We were sure Marcel would need to get that nice new shiney winch dirty and it become second hand. But no, somehow he managed to get through those mud holes as well!!

We were back in plenty of time to head out before dark, we had had a great day doing just what we like to do!!

PS: We didn't break anything either.
