The Nation’s rural emergency responders face unique challenges when compared to their urban counterparts. Recognizing the need for consistent, quality training that addresses those challenges, Congress and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security established the Rural Domestic Preparedness Consortium (RDPC) to fill the training needs and requirement gaps faced by rural communities.
Led by Eastern Kentucky University, the RDPC is comprised of academic partners with expertise in developing and deliver-ing homeland security curriculum for rural first responders.
