Coast Cornish Festival with this year’sprogram set to attract over 45,000 people fromSouth Australia, interstate and overseas.

We have something for everyone, heritage,entertainment, Cornish food and the traditions thisfestival is famous for. The Copper Coast towns ofKadina, Moonta and Wallaroo come alive with thefestivities and involvement of people from all agesdressing in traditional Cornish costume and dancingin the streets and revelling in the chance tocelebrate our Cornish Heritage.

We thank our local community groups,volunteers and businesses for their huge support.Without their continued input and enthusiasmthis event would not have the buzz andexcitement that sets this festival apart and hasbecome a biennial feature in the lives of many.

Performed several times during the festival, costumedschool children dance in a circle each holding a coloured ribbon attached to a large pole. Theribbons are intertwined and plaited either on to the pole itself or into a web around the pole. Thedancers then retrace their steps exactly in order to unravel the ribbons. There are numerousdifferent dances performed each with its unique combinations of steps creating an array of variedpatterns.

Performed several times during the festival, costumedschool children dance in a circle each holding a coloured ribbon attached to a large pole. Theribbons are intertwined and plaited either on to the pole itself or into a web around the pole. Thedancers then retrace their steps exactly in order to unravel the ribbons. There are numerousdifferent dances performed each with its unique combinations of steps creating an array of variedpatterns.
