KeyRing’s History• KeyRing was founded in 1990 and we’re currently
celebrating our 25th year• We developed a unique model based on the idea of a
network of members who mutually support each other• There are now over 100 Living Support Networks
across England & Wales, supporting some 900 people
• We work with over 50 Local Authorities in England and Wales…. and link with Neighbourhood Networks in Scotland
What is KeyRing? • People want their own place to live
• They want to exercise choice and take responsibility
• KeyRing focuses on one person at a time
• KeyRing can benefit a broad range of people
• KeyRing helps develop strong relationships within communities
• People are safer when they are:
– more self-reliant– less dependent on workers– Known in their communities
