Knauf Earthwool takes the benefits of traditional mineral wool loft insulation and improves them with

Ecose technology. This technology is a

revolutionary bio-based binder technology

that produces brown insulation without

the need for any dyes. It reduces embodied

energy and delivers superior

environmental sustainability. Using a bio-

based binder also means that this

insulation is much softer, which makes it

easier to handle and fit. Earthwool also

delivers all the benefits of traditional

mineral wool. It gives outstanding acoustic

performance, absorbing and helping

reduced unwanted noise. This insulation

also offers the same levels of thermal

resistance and superb energy efficiency as

mineral wool. It has an unbeatable A1 fire

classification meaning that it is non-

combustible, for that added peace of mind.

Earthwool is made from recycled glass bottles and can be recycled again when it comes to needing to

be replaced. The energy saved by one roll in its lifetime can be over 1500 times the energy used to

produce it!

Overview

Earthwool Loft Insulation Roll 44 Combi Cut is a flexible, shot free, unfaced, low density glass mineral

wool quilt, which is lightweight, flexible, resilient and non-combustible. The thermal conductivity of

Earthwool Loft Roll 44 is 0.044 WmK. Fire performance Earthwool Loft Roll 44 is classified as Euroclass

A1 to BS EN ISO 13501-1.

Earthwool Loft Roll 44 is odourless, rot proof, non-hygroscopic, does not sustain vermin and will not

encourage the growth of fungi, mould or bacteria.

For the provision of thermal and acoustic insulation in new build lofts and also loft conversions.

Earthwool Loft Roll 44 is available in thicknesses to suit current Building Regulations and is 1140mm

wide, perforated or cut to suit both 400 and 600 roof joist centres. It has the highest achievable fire

classification of A1.

Standards

Earthwool Loft Roll 44 is a non-combustible inorganic glass wool, defined as mineral wool in BS 3533

and is manufactured in accordance with BSI Quality Assurance Standard BS EN ISO 9001 2001.

Environmental

Earthwool Loft Roll 44 is free from CFCs, HCFCs and any other material with ozone depletion potential

in its manufacture and content and represents no known threat to the environment. Earthwool Loft

Roll 44s manufacture has a low impact on the environment and is classified as Zero ODP and Zero

GWP.

Handling and Storage

Earthwool Loft Roll 44 is easy to handle and install, being lightweight and easily cut to size.

It is supplied in polythene packs designed for short term protection only.

For longer term protection on site, the product should be stored either indoors, or under cover and

off the ground. Installation instructions are on every pack.

Earthwool Loft Roll 44 should not be left permanently exposed to the elements.
