Resort InformationSharing an area with Flims and Falera in the Rhine valley, canton of Graubünden, Laax is situated on a sunny plateau, high above the Rhine gorge. Of the three villages in the area, Laax is best known for its skiing.

However, with Flims offering hiking, cross country skiing and wellness hotels, and Falera offering traditional Graubunden mountain charm, the area is fantasitcally well appointed for skiers and non-skiers alike.

Laax’s sunny plateau stretches from the Laax ravine up to the watershed of the Bündner and Glarner mountain ranges and on to the Vorab glacier. During the Winter season, this marvellous ski area attracts families and groups of friends alike to enjoy the fantastic skiing.

In Summer, the beautiful setting attracts many tourists want to hike or cycle through the forests and the stunning Alpine scenery.

Apres SkiLaax offers something for everyone, and the diversity of visitors can be seen on and off the slopes; there are numerous mountain restaurants and a variety of nightspots. A gourmet will feel just as comfortable as the laid-back romantic or the party-keen apres skier.

Riders Palace in Laax is one of the 94 coolest hotels in the world. There is a 24-hour bar, and in the Palace Club downstairs top international acts lay down the tunes every weekend.

WinterLaax is a stunning Swiss resort with a fabulous location that is both sunny and snowsure. It has 100 km2 of slopes, which makes it one of the Grisons’ largest ski areas, and there are about 220 km of pistes going up to 3000m in the Flims-Laax-Falera area. Skiers and snowboarders can enjoy four excellent downhill slopes, four snow parks and Europe’s largest half-pipe.

The ski region is expansive and includes pistes suitable for skiers of all levels. Expert skier can also explore the backcountry with a guide, or enjoy the park and pipe facilities in the resort. The highest point of the Vorab glacier reaches a height of 3,018m, ensuring the area

enjoys a long season.

Laax has been crowned ‘Switzerlands Best Ski Resort’ several times now, due to the fantastic snow conditions and family friendly facilities. The title was awarded again at the prestigious World Ski Awards in 2015; this was the third time that Laax had won the award.

SummerSummer sports enthusiasts can enjoy over 230km of mountain bike trails and over 250km of hiking trails, leading to panoramic lookouts offering views across the Graubünden area.

Those not fond of mountain biking can enjoy the golf course, as well as going on themed walking trails, enjoying mountain meadows and moorland lakes.

The Laax area offers varied and fascinating holidays for the entire family. The ‘Flimser Grosswald’ is one of the largest wooded areas in Graubünden, a must for all nature enthusiasts.

The Rhine gorge, which is also known as the ‘Swiss Grand Canyon’, fascinates hikers and river rafters throughout the world.

The scenery in summer is stunningly picturesque, and the Caumasee (pictured) is particularly spectacular, with its turquoise-green waters and pretty bays.
