PE DAYS
WEDNESDAY and THURSDAY
Homework will continue to be given out on
a Thursday and is expected back by the
following Wednesday.
Homework will consist of a writing or
comprehension
activity, section/s from their Mental
Arithmetic booklets and any practise
papers to hep prepare for the SATs.
During the second half of the term the
class will be introduced to their project

Literacy
During this term we will be covering units
that include, journalistic
writing,
figurative language, biography skills and
non-chronological reports.
We will continue to develop our
comprehension skills through explicit
lesson as well as our guided reading
sessions.
We will also be working through a range
of Key Stage 3 transitional activities,
including studying a range of texts
written by William Shakespeare.
Maths This term, the children will continue to
further develop confidence and skills in key concepts such as, properties of shape,
angles, statistics, ratio, position and direction, as well as key preparation for their tests in May and secondary school in September. They will continue to be taught a separate
Arithmetic lesson which will focus on rapid response
and showing workings.
PE
PE continues to be on a Wednesday
afternoon with Mr Palmer where the
children will be concentrating on Games, as
well as the usual Thursday morning session,
with Mrs Corke, where we will be focusing
Gymnastics and Dance.

Science
Within our topic lessons, the children will
be:
Identifying and naming the main
parts of the human circulatory
system.
Describing the functions of the
heart, blood vessels and blood.
Describing the way in which
nutrients and water are
transported within animals,
including humans.
Demonstrating their understanding
of the principles of being healthy.
Finding out about the effects of
tobacco, alcohol and drugs can have

We will also be using our Science lessons to
