Este domingo celebramos una de las principales doctrinas de la Iglesia, aquella del Dios Trino y Uno: Padre, Hijo y Espíritu Santo. Aunque siempre será un gran misterio, podemos indicar que la Trinidad es una relación eterna de amor. De todos los misterios de la Iglesia, la Santísima Trinidad es fundamental para nuestra fe. De hecho, es fundamental para nuestra fe como Cristianos Católicos. Todo lo que aprendemos y creemos acerca de nuestra fe y de Dios se puede relacionar con este misterio. A pesar de que nunca podremos comprender plena-mente la realidad de que hay un solo Dios, pero tres personas, Padre, Hijo y Espíritu Santo, creemos que Dios se revela a sí mis-mo a través de este misterio dándonos la salvación y ofreciéndo-nos la reconciliación. This Sunday we celebrate one of the primary doctrines of the Church, that of the Triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. While it will always be a great mystery, we can point out that the Trini-

ty is an eternal relationship of love. Of all the mysteries of the Church, the Holy Trinity

is central to our faith. In fact, it is fundamental to our belief as Catholic Christians. Everything we learn and believe about our faith and about God can be related to this mystery. Although we cannot ever fully understand the reality that there is only one God but three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, we believe that God reveals himself through this mystery and works salvation and offers us reconciliation. (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 234)

Ve tu vida Pregunta para los niños: ¿Por qué piensas que los católicos hacen “la señal de la cruz” cuando oran? Pregunta para los jóvenes: ¿Con qué frecuencia piensas en Dios co-mo la Trinidad? ¿Cómo te relacionas con cada miembro de la Trinidad? Pregunta para los adultos: Como cada uno de nosotros es llamado y enviado por Cristo, ¿cómo ha incorporado esto a su vida diaria, sea casado, soltero, de vida religiosa u ordenado? Revelation of God’s love Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Week of May 27, 2018 Listen to the Word (Matthew 28:16 – 20) As you hear Jesus sending out his followers, what strikes you about his words and commands? What image of the church does this give you? Look into your life Question for children: Why do you think Catholics make “The Sign of the Cross” when we pray? Question for youth: How often do you think about God as Trinity? How do you relate to each member of the Trinity? Question for adults: As each of us is called and sent by Christ, how have you incorporated this into your own life, whether married, single, in religious life, or ordained? Activities for the week Take these activities to further reflect: Pray the Sign of the Cross with your family. Use the prayer to bless your children at bedtime. As you pray the Sign of the Cross, trace a small cross on your child’s forehead with your thumb. Make a holy water font or dish for your home to remind your-selves that you come and go each day in the name of the Trinity. Get some holy water from church. Practice making the Sign of the Cross slowly and reverently. Talk about its meaning for us. The Church often uses symbols to summarize what we under-stand about the truths of our faith. Next time you go to church, ar-rive early and find symbols of the Trinity in your church. What do they tell you about our belief in the Holy Trinity? St. Patrick is known for his explanation of the Trinity to the peo-ple of Ireland. Read about the missionary work of this saint and talk to others about his explanations concerning the Most Holy Trinity.

Solemnidad de la Santisima Trinidad 27 de mayo del 2018 En la lectura del Deuteronomio, Moisés proclama la grandeza de Dios y que no hay otro. El tema de la Trinidad —tres personas en un Dios— conecta la Segunda Lectura de hoy con el Evangelio. Según San Pablo, es por el Espíritu que disfrutamos de la nueva vida y nos hacemos hijas e hijos adoptivos y herederos por medio de Cristo. En el Evangelio de San Mateo, Jesús comisiona a los Apóstoles que vayan y hagan discípulos de todas las naciones, bautizándoles en el nombre del Padre, del Hijo y del Espíritu Santo. Nosotros, como corresponsables fieles, reconocemos nuestro llamado bautismal al discipulado en el Señor. Inspirados por la Santísima Trinidad, llevamos a cabo este discipulado al compartir nuestro tiempo, talento y tesoro para construir nuestra co-munidad parroquial —para construir el reino de Dios.

Solemnity of The Most Holy Trinity May 27, 2018 In the reading from Deuteronomy, Moses proclaims the great-ness of God and that there is no other. The Trinity theme — three persons in one God — links today’s Second Reading and the Gospel. According to St. Paul, it is by the Spirit that we en-joy new life and become adopted children and heirs through Christ. In St. Matthew’s Gospel, Jesus commissions the Apos-tles to go out and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We, as faithful stewards, acknowledge our baptismal call to discipleship in the Lord. Inspired by the Holy Trinity, we act out this discipleship through our sharing of time, talent, and treasure to build up our parish community — to build up the kingdom of God.

Please Help us Feed The Children The Soup Ministry of the Our Lady of La Salette St. Vincent de Paul Conference is again, partnering with the MUST Ministries Summer Lunch Program by preparing sack lunches for hungry children in Canton and Cherokee County. Every year with your help we are able to provide many lunches throughout the summer. During the school year many children are able to qualify for the reduced or free lunch program. For some of these children this is the only meal they will eat that day. In the summer many of these children would go hungry without the Summer Lunch Program. This year we have been asked to prepare Peanut Butter and Jelly Sand-wiches along with providing juice boxes, single serve bags of chips or snack crack-ers, and fruit snacks or fruit cups. Every one of us can participate in this very worthy ministry through donations of time, food items or by financial donations.

Please place donated food items in the Saint Vincent de Paul tub in the Parish Center. Checks should be made payable to: Our Lady of La Salette SVdP Soup Ministry. A Ministry of Intercession and Devotion to Our Lady Undoer of Knots A new ministry of prayer and petitions that will allow all of us to intentionally pray for one another ask-ing for the intercession of Mary under the invocation of Our Lady Undoer of Knots. All of us hold in our hearts prayer requests about family, friends, ourselves, etc. Communal prayer unites us as member of a community of faith. When we pray for each other, we see ourselves as brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus. stewardship—sharing God’s gifts We want a few more Ushers — Hospitality Ministers!

Ushers extend hospitality by greeting and welcoming Mass attendees at the Church entrance ways. They assist attendees as needed with finding a seat, are responsible for passing around the collection baskets, and at the end of Mass are responsible for distributing the weekly bulle-tin. In addition, during communion, they assist the eucharistic ministers by pointing out those who cannot proceed through the communion line and therefore need communion brought to them. The goal of the usher is to provide an orderly environment for the community during our celebration of the Mass. Please consider joining the Usher Ministry.
