Get employed! –projectEnhancing international students’ employment in Finland
Target group: international degree students studying at Lahti University of Applied Sciences
Aims:
1) To support the development of working life skills;
2) To develop career services for this particular target group;
3) To market international students and their know-how to local employers, and
4) To develop and improve the local cooperation.

Project examples
Outdoors Finland SOUTH The project aims to improve the quality and accessibility of routes for
cycling, trekking and canoeing for independent tourists from both Finland and abroad, and for business.
Student Entrepreneurship During the past years Lahti UAS has been very active and successful in
promoting student entrepreneurship in innovative ways and through many development projects. Entrepreneurship in the wellbeing sector is one of the focus areas.
Foresight Lahti UAS is using foresight studies also in projects to anticipate the future
needs and challenges especially on two sectors: structural changes on regional development and labour market skill needs.

Cleantech in LUAS As a part of cleantech community in Lahti region Lahti UAS has started
intensive work to strenghten and focus its applied R&D&I activities in cleantech sector. This will enhance knowhow, awareness and attraction of Lahti UAS for students, companies and other stakeholders.
Moving towards wellbeing The project aims to develop entrepreneurship co-operation in social and
health care and entrepreneurship education at the participating institutions in Päijät-Häme, Kymenlaakso and the Leningrad region (Vyborg) and St. Petersburg.

FUAS is a strategic alliance formed by HAMK, Lahti and Laurea Universities of Applied Sciences.
The strategic intent is to be an internationally respected alliance that strengthens the international competitiveness of the greater Helsinki metropolitan area, offering all the higher education, research and regional development services required by the area's business life and population.
The strategic goals of FUAS are implemented in practise through joint projects and working groups and in the future also with the help of a common strategic guidance operations model.
The three universities of applied sciences have 21 000 students and 1 700 staff members.
