This Web Quest was designed with the intent of building thestudents knowledge of poetry with a focus on language arts. Thestudents will work individually as they write their own foundpoem. They will build their knowledge of poetry, especially foundpoems as they journey through the different tasks. The studentswill choose one of nine poems to re-work and make their own.They will record their finished poem in their writers notebook.

This lesson is anchored in the fifth grade language arts
standards. The lesson is designed with the intent of students
being able to compose a re-worked found poem from one ofnine original poems given. Students will use information skills
and research skills in the WebQuest.
Learners should be able to research, pick out valuable
information, follow procedures when given, appropriately use
technology and work efficiently while remaining on task.Teachers must provide assistance to be sure that each student
attains valuable information about poetry.
