Inaugural Ceremony The Learning Engagement Activity Fair-2014 was organized at Jatan Devi Daga Higher Secondary CBSE School, Civil Lines, Raipur on 30th November 2014 in a very befitting manner as per guidelines issued by project coordinator AEP as well as UNFPA guidelines. The Chief Guest of the function was Dr. Y. Shivhare, Joint Director, Education Department, Chhattisgarh Government and Guest of honor was Sh. A.P. Verma, Assistant Commissioner, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, Bhopal Region and the function was presided by Sh. Heeralal Ji Daga, Chairman School Board. To make this event a success, a consultative meeting of tutors of 10 AIs was organized on 19th November 2014 at RC Raipur. Ten AIs nominated for this fair took part in this event with full enthusiasm and dedication.

Activity 1 Role Play For Role Play 14 teams of 10 AIs participated with an enactment and dramatization for the suggested situations given in the study material for the different subjects and the given activities suggested in the guidelines in different books i.e. Hindi-activity no.13.2, English-27.4, Science & Technology-19.7 & 32.7, Social Science-18.4 & 22.4. The Learners acted on these activities in the proper costumes and the message was delivered along with the life skills and adolescence education on peer pressure, drug abuse, stress management, value education, democracy, casting of votes for strengthening democracy, gender sensitivity, modernity in the society, preservation of environment & animals etc. The glimpses of these Role Plays are visible in the photographs.

Creative Expression through Writing and Poster making competition Youth Festival 2014:- Activity 2 Creative Writing Competition: The Topics for Creative Writing were given as following: Around 41 learners participated in creative writing on these given topics. The education at NIOS is the education of my dreams because: I am a happy learner, I am accepted irrespective of my background and ability, The Self Learning Materials help me learn at my own pace and convenience, I do not fear exams, I can learn while I earn, I can pursue my interests and nurture my talents, NIOS opens the door to a better future, I can select subjects according to my need, interest and ability. The education at NIOS will become the education of my dreams if: The Self Learning Materials is available in my own language, My educational needs are fulfilled in my Study Centre, I do not have to fear exams, I get more opportunities to meet my class fellows, I am not always worried about my future, It helps me to value myself and others, I get a regular opportunity to show my talent.
