    Year B: A weekend program designed for

    persons interested in learning more aboutScripture, Christian belief, personal spiritual

    development and ministry. This program isdesigned to engage both heart and mind in thecontext of classroom interaction, community,and prayer. Participants attend classes Fridayevenings (7:00 p.m. 9:30 p.m.) and Saturdays(9:00 a.m. 4:00 p.m.) for 4 weekends duringthe Fall and another 4 weekends during theSpring. Format includes input and discussion.

    No exams or assignments. All work iscompleted in the class setting. Upon completionof years A, B, & C students are awarded the

    Diploma in Theology and Ministry.

    BACHELOR OF THEOLOGY BY

    DISTANCE

    The B.Th. by Distance enables students to studyin their own communities, and reduces the on-site residency requirement to eight months. We

    trust that this will make courses and training forministry in Christs name ever more accessible.Students who are sponsored by theirdenomination for ministerial training (whether asordained or as lay) may enroll.

    BACHELOR OF THEOLOGY FOR

    DISCIPLESHIP AND MINISTRY

    In the fall of 2013 Queens College began tohost a Bachelor of Theology for Discipleshipand Ministry on behalf of the Diocese of Eastern

    Newfoundland and Labrador and in partnershipwith the St. Marys Centre in Wales. Thisinnovative six-year Bachelor of Theology degreedoes not assume previous university experience

    and is delivered over three terms every year.Students study in their home communities as

    part of a Local Education Group formed with afacilitator. Essays and reflections are submittedonline and the work of each student is currentlyassessed by relevant members of the theologicalstaff at the St. Marys Centre. Students are freeto complete either two, four, or six years of the

    program and depending upon how far theydecide to do will be eligible to receive acertificate, a diploma or a degree.

    ASSOCIATE IN THEOLOGY

    The Associate in Theology program is a courseof study designed for persons who areinterested in increasing their knowledge andappreciation of Christian belief and practice.As well as developing their pastoral skills, this

    program also provides a theological base forpersons assuming leadership and ministrywithin the life of their faith community.Enrollment in this program does not requireany previous work in theological studies.

    YOUTH MINISTRY(2 credit hour courses)

    This program is designed for people to enhancetheir current ministry to youth, in either aleadership or assistance role, or to equip themwith skills to start such a ministry within theirlocal congregation. Youth, in this case, focusesnot only on adolescents but in the broader sensefrom ages 13 to 25. It is structured in a way tohelp students become leaders in community,worship, proclamation, teaching, and service, aswell as equip them with the tools to develop

    both adult and youth leaders within the church.

    Certificate in Youth Ministry is designed forministers/priests/pastors or theologically edu-cated laity (i.e. A.Th., EFM) who are involvedin or who plan to start a ministry to youth.Students complete only the five core youthministry courses.
