Session Descriptions

Baby Time—These sessions are aimed at babies/young children from birth to first steps - they offer you and your baby a range of fun and exciting baby themed activities. Just drop-in. This session runs along side Health Drop-in.

Baby Social— An opportunity to meet other mums, dads and carers with young babies living in your area. A warm, safe and stimulating environment to enhance your child’s development.

Breast Friends—A social group for breastfeeding families with planned fun activities. Come along for a chat and get to know other breastfeeding

families in the area. Support is also available from our trained staff and a Breastfeeding Peer Support Advisor. We also welcome pregnant parents-to-be.

Get Ready for Nursery—School readiness sessions for two year olds prior to starting school nursery. Please ask staff for more details.

Health Drop-in—Come along and meet other parents and let your children interact with others. Health Visitors will be at the centre to weigh your baby and answer any questions.

Infant Massage—Is your baby aged between six weeks and a year? If so, why not come along to our four week course to learn the techniques and benefits of massage for you and your baby. Booking required.

Introduction to Solid Foods—Come along and take away top tips on weaning your baby. Please ask at your local centre for available dates.

Let’s Play Together— An opportunity to play together with your child. The sessions provide information and support regarding your child’s development and how you can provide stimulating play opportunities within the home. Referral required.

Little Explorers— An opportunity to play together and meet other families from the local community. Activities available for babies and young children to

play, explore and learn. Just drop in.

Parenting Puzzle—Parenting Puzzle is a 5 week course to help with the challenges you may face as a parent of children 0-5 years. Referral required.

Pregnancy, Birth & Beyond—A block of 4 antenatal classes which will help you to learn and grow as mothers and fathers.

Twins Group (Parent Led) —A parent led group for parents with multiple births.

Wriggle, Read and Rhyme with Book Start— Sessions for parents/carers to attend with their child aged 2 years+ These sessions aim to support communi-

cation, language and literacy development by encouraging the love of books, stories and rhymes. Booking required.

Pregnancy, Birth & Beyond Classes

These are free antenatal classes for parents in

Redcar & Cleveland to prepare you together

for birth and life with a new baby.

Classes are held at Redcar Coast Children’s Centre.

HENRY Everyone wants the best for their children, but it can be hard to know what to do as a parent in the early years. That’s where HENRY comes in. The HENRY programme is free to join and helps you give your child the best possible start in life.

• Would you like to feel more confident as a parent? • Would you like some support to give your child a healthy start?

• Do you wish your child would eat more fruit and vegetables? • Would you like to reduce mealtime stress?

• Would you like to enjoy being active together as a family more often? • Are you interested in some ideas to get children away from the TV?

If you have at least one child under 5 years old and can

answer ‘yes’ to any of these questions then HENRY is for you. Please ask in your local Children’s Centre for more details.

Early Years Programme

Children are rewarding, stimulating and fun, but looking after them can be

stressful and challenging. The Parenting Puzzle workshop sessions help deal with those

challenges so that you can have a calmer and happier family life.

A tried and tested 5 week

programme that helps us think about what we do, why we do it and how it

makes us feel. Contact a member of staff in your local

Children’s Centre for more information or to book a place.
