LED efficiency lighting systems such as these are becoming more and more commercialized over the years. The diodes are very robust and deliver on the ROI promised…… But what actually turns them on?

The semiconductors that provide power to the LED are sensitive to peak voltages as well as the rise time of that voltage

Environmental Potentials patented waveform correction technology focuses on tracking the waveform and absorbing the high frequency noise along with slowing down and absorbing any voltage spiking regardless of where it occurs on the waveform. Environmental Potentials

converts this pollution into thermal energy within the unit and does not shunt it into the grounding system.

The power systems of the 21st century are highly populated with non-linear loads which do not aw current in a steady state fashion, but switch on and off every half cycle or 120 times a second. This switching causes higher frequencies of voltage and current to be discharged into the electrical distribution system. These discharged frequencies are high and damage the surrounding electronics in a facility between the frequencies of 3 KHz and 100 KHz. This high frequency voltage and current, along with transient voltage spikes will lead to the abbreviated life of electronic ballasts and drivers connected to the system. Below are the recommended high frequency noise levels that should be

checked for before installing modern LED lighting. High  Frequency  Voltage  should  be  below  -‐40db  or  .01v  between  3KHZ  and  100KHz  High  Frequency  Current  should  be  below  -‐50db  or  .019i  between  3KHz  and  100KHz

If  the  power  system  does  not  meet  the  above  values  then  Waveform  CorrecIon  Technology  should  be  added  to  the  lighIng  panels.

In order to maximize the sustainability and lower the impact of power quality issues on the LED lighting systems all lighting panels will be retrofitted with Waveform Correctors by Environmental Potentials. Environmental Potentials Waveform Correctors will actively track and filter the A/C sine wave while simultaneously providing system protection and isolation.
