interesting few monthsat the end of 2009, ourclub has seen a numberof changes that has ledus to where we aretoday. Many of youmight remember us better as FC Barsa aswe renamed from lastseason to becomeLeeds FC.

With a new

management structureand a new look playingsquad we are aiming atbigger and better thingsand hope you will continue to follow usthroughout the seasonas we strive to developLeeds as a major forcein English futsal.

We hope that youenjoy both today’sgames and look forwardto seeing you again.

A quick welcome...

2010 is the first year that the FA Na-tional Futsal League sees the presence of Leeds Futsal Club.

Before then the club competedunder the name of FC Barsa and hada nomadic existence playing all itshome games in either Hull orSheffield.

The team was formed by CoachKevin Barr from boys who had playedor had connections with North Leedsjunior football club Wigton Moor.Kevin had an ambition to take hisplayers to the highest level, which hewas able to do in the club's first season.

After winning the Leeds FutsalLeague in 2006 the club qualified toplay in the FA National Champi-onships in Sheffield. The average ageof the team at this time was under 18.

FC Barsa continued its progresswhen it was invited to join a regionalfutsal league in Hull. It played thereuntil it joined the Northern division ofthe National Futsal League in Febru-ary 2008.

2010 sees another change in the

history of the team as it now has abase in its home town at Leeds Uni-versity. To reflect this long awaiteddevelopment the club changed itsname to acknowledge its local con-nection.

Since then the squad has also seena change of personnel and the 2010

season sees its first foreign bornBritish based players and a new man-ager, Brazilian ex-professional JuniorRoberti, who now lives in Leeds.

Leeds have only played one gamein the National Futsal League against

Middlesbrough. An initially veryclose game saw Leeds run out ofsteam and eventually lose 7-2. .

Today’s opposition Sheffield FC alsohave their own Brazilian Managerand we expect another close game.
