Save the Date!

It’s time for us to update our photo directory. For now, we just need you to save the date. Lifetouch will photograph all families October 23rd through October 27th right here in Father Turner Hall. Our directory won’t be complete without you. Each parishioner who has their photograph taken will receive an 8x10 photograph and a directory at no cost. Delivery will be in time for holiday giving! Watch the bulletin for more information in the coming weeks! Volunteers are needed and will be appreciated.

Seniors News - Packer Party

Join us for an enjoyable afternoon celebrating one of our favorite teams – The Green Bay Packers. This event will take place in the Church Hall on Thursday, October 11, 2018. Our luncheon will begin at 12:00 P. M. We will have chili, ham and rolls, salads, relishes, baked beans, desserts and many more delicious items. All members and guests need to sign up to bring a dish or choose to pay $6.00 for the luncheon!

After a delicious lunch, we will have a lot of fun trying to break our “Packer” piñata. Come and enjoy an afternoon of food, fun, and friendship! We hope to see you there!

Fireside Trip

Come and join the Blessed Sacrament Seniors on October 25, 2018, as we travel to the Fireside Theatre to see a performance of “Grease”. There are only a few seats left and we are now inviting parishioners and friends interested in seeing this production. The cost for coach travel, dinner, and play is $86.00. Come and enjoy a wonderful day! For more information, please call the Parish Office at (414) 649-4720.

Has God Answered Your Prayers?

Perhaps He has answered you, but you couldn’t hear Him. We talk to God, we ask for help, we thank Him for His many blessings, but do we hear God as we should? The world is loud, busy, and fast. We need to take time, step back, and listen.

Our Mother of Perpetual Help Retreat Center in Oconomowoc, is surrounded by acres of woods, water, and peace. Come see their beautiful new Mother of Perpetual Help Shrine, paved walkways, prayer gardens, outdoor labyrinth, and outdoor Stations of the Cross. Access to a beautiful chapel, daily Mass, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, a library, sitting rooms, tasty meals, an excellent staff, and a private room with shower, linens, towels, etc. will make a retreat experience refreshing for your body and soul.

The scheduled Blessed Sacrament Women’s Retreat weekend will include women from twelve other parishes in Southeast Wisconsin. Come share in a weekend of peace, prayer and rest. Retreat starts early Friday evening, October 12th, and ends on Sunday, October 14th at noon. God shows up….when we least expect….in mira-cles….as well as whispers. Will you hear Him? For more infor-mation or to register, please call Linda Klingseisen, (414) 321-1611.

Fish Fry This Friday

Mark your calendars - we will be having a Fish Fry on Friday, September 28th, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The pro-ceeds will benefit My Good Mourning Place. As usual, we can use and appreciate your delicious desserts. The prices are as follows and are all-you-can-eat: adults $11.00, seniors (55+) $10.00, kids (10 and under) $6.00, and all-you-can-eat mac & cheese with french fries $6.00. Take-outs will also be available.

If you would like to volunteer you can contact Mike Gaffney at (414) 416-4225.

Dear Father Mark;

In the name of the La Salette missionaries and especially of Fr. Sebastian Flory (U.), I wish to thank you and the people of Blessed Sacrament for your hospitality, generosity and prayers during the mission appeal on September 8th & 9th.

We thank you for the opportunity to bring a renewed awareness of our Church’s Mission to your people and to bring their love and support to the needy of the mission countries served by the Missionaries of Our Lady of La Salette.

Sincerely yours in our Lord and Lady, Fr. Thomas Vellappallil, MS Director

West Central Interfaith Programs Make A Difference Day - Fall Clean-Up

Each fall, groups of volunteers assist seniors in the community with yard cleanup at the end of October into the beginning of No-vember. Homeowners, apply now to have your name added to the list. Spaces are limited and will fill up quickly! Call West Central Interfaith at (414) 774-1747.

St. Vincent de Paul Society On Saturday, September 29th, The Society of St. Vincent de Paul of Milwaukee is sponsoring a Friends Of The Poor Fun Walk! The walk starts out at 9:00 AM from St. Alphonsus parish at 6060 W. Loomis Road in Greenfield and follows a path through Scout Lake Park, then back to the church.

Registration is available online at www.svdpmilw.org. You can also register in person on the day of the walk. The cost is $25.00 for adults and $10.00 for children age 5 to 17.

All funds raised go directly to support the SVDP meal program sites in Milwaukee. The meal program feeds hundreds of people through two kitchens, five nights per week on the north side at 2600 N. 2nd Street, and six nights per week on the south side at 931 W. Madison Street.

Participants are welcome to run, walk or just cheer each other on for this fun walk in a beautiful setting while donating a visible symbol of their support of programs to benefit people in need.

The St Vincent de Paul Society will meet again on Monday Sep-tember 24th at 6:30 PM in the basement of the rectory. Anyone interested in their work for people in need is welcome to attend.
