Clinical Academic Training

Programme - review

• One task for the CACSG was to review the CAT Programme –

4 levels

• A questionnaire was circulated to key stakeholders to establish

a baseline position for the CAT Programme, and identify key

issues relating to areas of good practice or barriers to access

to the various CAT Programme schemes

• The existing scheme was opened up to include pharmacists

as a pilot

• A new CAC Framework is being developed that consolidates

existing schemes into one programme for all healthcare

professionals outside medicine and dentistry – also open to a

wider range of professions
