Lijn 391

Bus 391, the Industrial Heritage line, is the easiest and most comfortable way of getting to the Zaanse Schans. Departing every 15 minutes from platform C at Amsterdam Central Station, bus 391 will take you to the Zaanse Schans in only 40 minutes, travelling through all the different landscapes Holland has to offer.

Zaandam Centre

The centre of Zaandam is located near bus stop ‘Mennistenerf’. Zaandam offers you some unique attractions, like the Czaar Peterhouse, as well as amazing architecture like the inntel hotel. Also the renovated centre makes Zaan-dam the ideal place for shopping and relaxing.

Furthermore with all it’s factories and warehouses on the banks of the river Zaan, Zaandam also is the ideal place to discover the world’s oldest industrial region.

Amsterdam CS

Amsterdam Central Station is not only the starting point of bus 391, which departs from platform C, it also connects the centre of Amsterdam with the metropolitan area of Amsterdam.

Zaanse Schans

The Zaanse Schans can be found at bus stop ‘Zaanse Schans’ and takes you back to Holland of the 18th and 19th century. Packing typically Dutch wooden windmills, barns, houses and professions of that era and also several museums, the Zaanse Schans offers enough to see and to do! Industrial Heritage

The Zaan district is a flat region in Holland characterised by its many waterways and channels. This provided an ideal location for the milling industry. The windy conditions, the entrepreneurial spirit of the people and the location in relation to Amsterdam saw the area develop into the world’s first industrial region. In the 17th and 18th centuries more than 1,000 windmills produced a wide aray of products like sawn planks, cocoa, mustard, dyes and paper. Over time the windmills made way for factories and warehouses which now are magnificent industrial monuments. The industrial Heritage, on the banks of the river Zaan, is the sight to see!

NDSM Wharf

The NDSM wharf can be found at bus stop ‘Klaprozenweg’. This 25-acre urban oasis offers multiple majestic industrial buildings, welcoming restaurants and cafes, distinctive architecture and a beautiful view across the waters of the IJ. So step off the bus for a warm welcome in this Amsterdam combination of shipbuilding history, creative hotspot and urban oasis!
