2019-2020 is a free trial year! We do not know
at this time if there will be a charge next year.
The State 4-H Office has invited everyone to try
it this year and to let your County Extension
Office know what you like or don’t like about it!
So please, try it out this year and let us know!
Linn County will accept this record book
program in 2020. However, you MUST PRINT
ALL THE RECORDS OUT and include it in
your current record book. We will not evaluate
by using the computer!
You can still do a record book even if you did not
participate in fair! Talk about what you did throughout the year related to the project area!
Linn County 4-H Derecho Survey
4-H Families,
We, like many, are trying to understand the
impact that the Derecho Strom has had on our
community. We want to be here to serve you and
help in your recovery. Please take a
moment to fill out this quick eight
question survey so that we can assess
the needs in our community and begin to
address them.

How do you do a record book if you did not take an exhibit to fair?
Record Books focus on everything you learned and did throughout the year in the Project Area as a
whole. Fair Write-ups focus on what you learned and did around a specific Fair Exhibit.

Need Record Book Pages Printed?
We know that many of our families utilize public libraries to print their record book pages. With the
storm and COVID-19, many libraries are still closed. Families can come to the Extension Office and
print their record book pages. We are open M-F 8:00am-4:30pm. If these times do not work for a
family please email [email protected] and we will figure something out.

4-H Online is getting an update! The State 4-H
Office’s goal is to have it ready as soon as they
can in October. In the meantime, youth can still
participate and attend 4-H club meetings and
other activities. Club leaders will turn in sign-in/
attendance sheets to the Extension Office so
that your family is covered by 4-H’s insurance
company.
2020-2021 Enrollment Update New 4-H Members? Do you have friends that might be interested in
joining 4-H?
Invite them to join you at your club meeting!
A personal invite from a friend can make joining
4-H less scary and more welcoming!

our mailing list so they don’t miss out on
