How Does Hearts Afire Work?It’s simple. Gather a group — or better yet, several groups — of six to twelve people whowant to be set on fire with God’s love, find a place to meet, and start the program.

There are three stages to the program:

PART 1:The Immaculate Heart

We begin with theImmaculate Heart, because Mary leadsus to the Sacred Heartof Jesus. We beginour journey to theImmaculate Heartwith the book 33 Daysto Morning Glory andits accompanying

group-retreat program.* The purpose of Part 1 is to lead us to formally entrust ourselves to Mary.

PART 2: The Sacred Heart

Mary then leads us to the Sacred Heart,which begins the second part of StageOne, the bookConsoling the Heart of Jesus and itsaccompanying group-retreat program.*

The purpose of Part 2is to draw closer to the Merciful and SacredHeart of Jesus by accepting His love andtrusting in Him.

STAGE ONE:

The Two Hearts

We begin Stage Two withThe ‘One Thing’ is Threeand its accompanyinggroup-study program.* The purpose of Stage Twois to give group members a kind of crash-course inCatholic theology and tooffer various opportunities,ideas, and support forworks of mercy. With thisstage, the members of thegroup would discern and

choose an apostolate individually, as a group, or both. They would also be asked to considerhelping their parish launch a solemn DivineMercy Sunday celebration. *Each program features talks on DVD, a Retreat Companion for each participant, and weekly group discussion.

STAGE THREE:

Keeping the Hearts Afire

This stage has to do with ongoing formation.After having completed the group studies of33 Days to Morning Glory, Consoling theHeart of Jesus, and The ‘One Thing’ is Three ;after having undertaken works ofmercy; and after being formally recognized by the Associationof Marian Helpers, yourgroup will probably wantto continue to meet togetherand grow in your faith. Atthis point, the Hearts AfireTeam will recommend toyour group a wide range of furthergroup studies, parish renewal oppor-tunities, and more in-depth training thatwill suit the desires and needs of your group.
