We all enjoyed a day out at the military museum followed by lunch at the Station Hotel. The trip was to mark the 15 year anniversary of Cumann Cairdeas. Creativity Art Course: with Ines Quintanilha McGee starting on Tuesday 19th February at 11am at Ionad Naomh Fionnán. On the first week, we will be making ‘Kindness Rocks’. (Painting Stones with positive messages) We plan to leave these rocks in random places around Cloughaneely. We hope the messages warm the hearts of those who find them. Ines is creating a digital book of the four week art course. This creativity art course is part-funded by the Donegal ETB. The Manus Memorial School Art Competition 2019: Beidh Comórtas Ealaíne Scoile Cuimhneacháin Manus i gcuimhne ar Mhanus McClafferty, nach maireann, ar an 18ú Feabhra. Bhí an comórtas ealaíne rathúil seo i Scoil Mhaigh Rua sa bhliain 2016 agus i Scoil Fhionáin ar an Fhál Carrach i 2018. Beidh comórtas na bliana seo i Scoil Náisiúnta Ghort a ‘Choirce. Is é an téama i mbliana nó “An Spéir san Oíche” agus beidh an ealaíontóir cumasach Kim Sharkey mar mholtóir ar an chomórtas. The Manus Memorial School Art Competition in memory of the late Manus McClafferty will be held on 18th February in Scoil Náisiunta Gort a’ Choirce. Pobail Le Chéile wishes to thank Special Days for supporting this event and storyteller Malachy Doyle for agreeing to come along on the day of the presentation of prizes to entertain the school with stories from his many books including some space themed ones!

COMMEMORATIVE NIGHTA function, in honour of the late Paddy Mulhern, takes place tonight, Friday 15th, in the Gweedore Bar commencing at 9.00pm. Paddy was a great Big Tom fan and it is very fitting that the poem “Two Roses for Big Tom” composed by Tommy Francis and set to music by Mary Murray. will be launched on the night. John Cannon is also launching “Ceithrre Bhóthar go Gort a Choirce”. The proceeds of the night will go to the Heart and Lung Transplant Unit, of the Mater Hospital, Dublin.
