From the Lodoen’s Welcome producers, to the L83 Lodoen Cattle Co/Huber EY Red Angus Annual production sale. We would like to welcome guest consigner Freisz Livestock as they bring hereford bulls to add more numbers to our sale. We are in a constant search to bring new and improved genetics to our customers. We believe in strong maternal traits including sound feet and legs, udders that produce good milking ability year after year, and quiet dispositions. Many of the bulls in this offering are suitable for use on heifers and cows alike. We also track carcass data for those that are looking for improved carcass merit to build into their own herds. With these characteristics in mind, we feel that we have a bull to fill each buyer’s needs.We encourage you to visit the ranch before March 21st to look over this powerful set of bulls that we have for your appraisal and to see the mothers of the sale bulls. We would like you to see first hand that our program can go to work for your program. We enjoy visiting with each of you, one on one, as we appreciate the opportunity to learn from our customers. As I’m writing this, we are in the 1rst quarter of the game with calving just getting under way, and in the 4rth quarter for bull sale preparation. We continue to work hard to seek and improve genetics with you the customer in mind, while still breeding for balanced traits. We want to thank our past customers for trusting in our program and what we are trying to accomplish.

Our bulls were weaned on October 8 , and fed a non –commercial feed to gain an average of 3.0 lbs. /day. This year in the test period we were around 3.5 lbs. /day thanks to the good weather mother nature provided. The only creep feed the calves see are a medicated pellet for a couple weeks in spring before they go to pasture. We feed to protect the body development and longevity of the bulls. The ADG’s listed in catalog are from a 66 day feed test. The bulls and heifers have a full vaccination and mineral program.

Our favorite part of this business remains the same- building friendships with our customers. We would also like to thank Lodoens for allowing us to come together on sale day. Feel free to call or stop by with any questions, the cattle are always available for viewing.

TERM, CONDITIONS, AND GUARANTEEAll bulls will be semen tested prior to the sale, but it is highly recommended that you test the bulls before turning them out for the breeding season. If a bull tests as a non-breeder, the seller has 180 days to make an adjustment. If the bull is returned to the seller and declared a sound breeder by a competent veterinarian, he will be returned to the buyer at the buyer’s expense. In case the bull is declared a non-breeder, the bull will be replaced with one of similar quality if possible or the purchase price will be refunded if the bull was returned in the same body condition as on sale day. This breeding guarantee is valid thru Oct. 15, 2015. As soon as an animal is purchased, it becomes the responsibility of the buyer. We do recommend buying insurance for any bull not taken home by the buyer sale day. Any bull taken home by his new owner or picked up by the buyer from the seller’s ranch by April 15th will receive a $100 credit off the purchase price. Also, for anyone buying more than 3 bulls, a 5% discount will be given. Transportation will be provided by the seller. All bulls must be picked up or will be delivered from Lodoen’s or Huber’s by April 15th, but will be fed for free until then if necessary. Heifer groups are not included in delivery or sale discounts. Transportation of heifers is the responsibility of the buyer.

HERD HEALTHL83/Lodoen and Huber EY RanchBoth herds are in excellent health. Both sets of bulls have been poured with Dectomax and are on a full, yearly vaccination program. Vet care for the Lodoen herd is provided by Dr. Russ Behm, Minot Vet Clinic, 701-852-4831. The Huber herd is under the care of Dr. Hogan, 701-320-2856 and Dr. Galbreath of Edgeley Vet Clinic, 701-493-8387. Both vets would be happy to answer any questions pertaining to the sellers bulls. Friesz Herefords Bulls have been poured with Dectomax and are on an annual vaccination program. Herd health is provided by Dr Travis Kuhlka, Glen Ullin, ND and Dr Kirk Johnson, Mandan, ND.

SUPPLEMENT SHEETOn sale day, you will be provided with a supplement sheet that will include scrotal measurements, current weight, hip height, and carcass data. Feel free to call any of us with any questions prior to sale day, or better yet, stop at one of the ranches and see the cattle first hand.

From the Friesz’s We appreciate the opportunity to be a part of the Lodoen/Huber Joint Production Sale. We run 40-50 head of registered Hereford females with good disposition, easy fleshing and great udder quality. Our females run on native grass in season and during the winter months are fed good quality hay, lick tubs and on a good Vitaferm mineral program. Our calves are not on creep feed until a few weeks prior to weaning. We implement the use of artificial insemination to bring in some of the breeds top genetics. The bulls we are offering have been raised by hand feeding CHS bull challenger and free choice hay. We try to grow these bulls out to maintain soundness and longevity. Our herd is on a full vaccination program and the bulls have been poured with Dectomax. The bulls will be fertility tested and are available to be viewed at the farm prior to the sale. You are welcomed to come and view the dams of these bulls. Also, CKP About Time 0924 and Red Baron are also available to view. We appreciate your interest in our program.

Game Face is doing what we expected him to do when we purchased him as the top selling Red Angus bull in 2012, He is putting moderate birth weight calves on the ground (average of 69 lbs for our 2014 calf crop) and is siring some of the top animals in the show ring. He produced the 2014 Champion Bull at the NWSS in Denver! And now is one of the most talked about bulls in the breed. We already

sold South American and Austrailian Semen rights, and now for the first time offering semen on the open market in the U.S. and Canada along with our Game Face partners, Six Mile Ranch. The bulls in our sale are strong muscled, heavy footed, correct in their kind, and have plenty of fertility with their scrotal measurements. Now that we are calving out his daughters, we can see that they have beautiful udders and plenty of milk as well. He is the real deal. Game Face also sired the 2015 National Champion Red Angus bull at Fort Worth.

This calf came into this world as a twin. He weaned of his natural dam at 682 lbs and his dam earned herself a MPPA of 102 on her second try. Another outcross herdsire that we purchased for strong maternal genetics. The calf crops out of Varsity Blues are easy calving, easy growing, dark cherry red cattle. We are pleased that Varsity Blues average offspring birthweights came in at 74lbs on the 2014 calf crop and seem as they may be the same for the 2015 calf crop. We are quite excited to use the daughters out of “Blues” to use as some of our top replacements. Check out his sons on sale day and I’m sure you’ll be impressed on the leg structure and foot size as well. These calves also have excellent scrotal development to ensure plenty of fertility.

This calf was born a twin, and because of timing, was raised by his dam with his twin as well. His weaning weight of 620 lbs explains that she did a fine job with twins her first try at motherhood. This calf is gaining 3.9 lbs on test. He is moderate, correct, and can be used on heifers.

Check out the weaning weight on this guy with a 2 yr old momma. But that’s what we expect from Tidal Wave daughters. She carries a MPPA of 102 and shows an udder that will perform for many years to come. This bull gained 3.25 lbs on test. I would be very comfortable using 12B on heifers.

We like these Varsity Blues calves for their calving ease, their maternal power, and their easy doing kind. This calf weaned off at 728 lbs and carries some frame to pass on to offspring. His dam has a beautiful udder and beautifully structured feet and legs and will keep her around for years to come. I’d expect this bull’s daughters to be replacements of the finest quality. He gained 3.2 lbs on test. Use him on most heifers.

All heifers are home raised, solid red, and were given Bovishield Gold 5 and Vision 7 in the spring and were boosted with the same on Oct 1st. They average 1150 lbs., and have been fed hay, silage and a small amount of grain. The heifers were ultrasounded by Dr. Ben Galbreath, Edgeley Vet Service.
