Long Duty Rule Map ExamplesMethodology:
Background: Long Duty pairings are those longer than 10:30 duty, but less than 2,000 statute miles one-way (4,000 round-trip.) Because block times are adjusted seasonally, some trips come under 10:30 some months, but over in other months. So the cities in which this rule applies may vary from month-to-month.
Assumptions: Cities ~1,750 miles from base are generally the ones which fall in the category of being able to fly within 10:30 duty sometimes but not all.
Logic: For that reason, the following maps show two circles, one 1,750 miles from base, and another 2,000 miles from base. The cities in between these circles will generally fall into the long duty range. Just note that the size of the inner circle adjusts slightly in or out depending on scheduled block & ground time.
Notes: Hawaii is longer than 4,000 miles from all bases. Map source: http://obeattie.github.io/gmaps-radius/
