January flew by as we continue learning and growing. We created wonderful winter crafts such as snowmen, and mittens. We enjoyed listening to “Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes” and doing
“Pat-A-Cake”. We had a blast learning about the color Blue and the circle. For our sensory activity experienced playing in flour with our toes. We also explored through our Prop Box which was full of cooking utensils such as pots and pans. We are looking forward to new learning adventures in
February!

This month was an exciting month for our class. Some of us are starting to walk while the rest of us are starting to stand and take steps. Our theme this month was “Competent Me”. We learned that we can put things in our pockets, in bags and in boxes. Our color was blue, we made pictures of mittens, snow globes, and penguins using our footprints and handprints. We
sang “Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes” and other songs. Our rhyme was “Pat-A-Cake” . We also sang “Chubby Little Snowman” and “Five Little Snowmen”. We look forward to next month
and what is has to offer us. Welcome to Room 2 Owen, & Happy Birthday to Logan!

January was a great kick off to the New Year. One of our favorites of the month was reading, learning, playing and doing art with dinosaurs. Our self portraits were fun as well. We loved doing art with our own pictures. We got really excited when
we could see ourselves in our art we created. We can’t wait to see what February brings us!

Happy New Year! January started off on the cold side which was perfect for us to start lessons on weather and Polar
Animals. We also discussed the seasons and magnets. We had fun talking about how the trees change colors for the seasons.
We also introduced the letters “P, L, & J”.
Room 6 Ms. Mary, Ms. Diana
January was so cool, we learned about Polar Animals, Weather and Seasons, as well as magnets. We created so many awesome
crafts from “Igloos” to “weather charts”. Our favorite thing we did this month was make snow, it was so neat to see the fake snow
expand. We are excited to see what February brings us! Welcome to Room 6 Brielle T. & Happy Birthday to Ramsey (1/30)!
Room 7 Ms. Yvette, & Ms. Rachel
We are so excited to see what 2018 brings us! We learned all about “Penguins”, “Polar Bears” and other arctic animals. We sang a fun penguin song while waddling all
around the classroom. We also talked about magnets and had a great time playing with different toys in the science center that are magnetic. Our character value for the month was “Recognizing and Accepting” differences. We learned how we are all the same because we are all people but we are different because our hair, eyes and
skin are not the same. Welcome to room 7 Jack, Jackson, and Madison.
Happy Birthday to Christian (1/6), Scarlett (1/19), & Deon (1/21)!
Room 8 Ms. Shana, Ms. Mary, & Ms. Gabby
We went in to 2018 with our Weather and Seasons theme focused on Polar Animals and magnets for our Science theme. We talked about our
favorite season and how the trees change every year when the seasons change. Magnets were all of our favorite. We loved exploring with magnatiles and searching through rice with our magnetic wands. We
focused on Penguins and Polar Bears, ask us where each one lives! We also did a fun activity to teach us about working together. We used an
energy stick, ask me how it works!
Room 9 APK Ms. Kandice
This month we learned about solid, liquid, and gas, our three states of matter. We did awesome experiments. We are very excited about the New Year,
our class resolution was to learn everything we can from our teachers. We talked about all of our celebrations and on our winter breaks we learned about Polar Animals and all of their features to keep them warm. We are
excited for what the next month brings us! Happy Birthday to Ariana (2/3) & Zayne (2/27)!
Room 9 ASC JR. Mr. Jeremiah
Room 9 started off the new year right! January ws full of fun. Our monthly theme was “Families”. We learned about our heritage and our ancestors. We also mapped out our family tree. This month we took a long look at diversity and learned a lot about our friends and teachers. We also covered equality and how important it is to treat everybody
how we would like to be treated. Our first month of 2018 was a success, now time to welcome February.
Room 10 Sr. Ms. Jasmyn, & Ms. Sarah
January was all about families! We did our family trees and learned how families in other countries and cultures live. We mapped out where our ancestors are from and talked about different traditions. Our class also
spent some time learning about the food pyramid and making healthy choices. We can’t wait to see what we’re going to learn next in
February!
