Farewell and Thank you Brenda Trembath After 22 years working in the Canteen, as a parent volunteer, assistant and as the P&C Canteen Manager, it is time to farewell Brenda and wish her all the best in her new job. Brenda has completed some studies and moved into a position at CareSouth. We wish Brenda all the best. We have been extremely fortunate to have her and thank her for all the years of service that she has done for the school, going above and beyond what was asked of her. Brenda has always taken good care of our students and staff and also Kalinda School. We are fortunate that Brenda will continue her association with the school by managing the books for the P&C operated canteen. We know that Brenda has many fond memories of her time working in the canteen, of those who have worked with her and of the students and staff she has served over the years.

I like Brenda because we share the same name, it was like a bond. She was nice and polite and she was always caring. We will all miss her. Brenda Goolagong, Year 6 Brenda is wonderful and lovely to everyone at our school. She is nice and caring all the time. We will miss Brenda because she had the most lovely smile. Alex Smyth, Year 6

Field Days On Friday students from GPS attended the Riverina Field days. Students from 2F enjoyed seeing all of the different exhibits and learning all about farm animals such as different breeds of sheep, cows and sheep dogs. Afterwards, the students were able to write some terrific recounts of their experiences.

We went to the Riverina Field Days today and I got to tell a miniature horse to sit down. I had to say to the horse “one, two, three, sit down Santos”. Mrs Flood took my picture with Santos. Santos goes into some hospitals to visit kids that are sick. My favourite part of the field days was patting the little Kelpie puppy and watching the big Kelpie dogs getting the sheep into the gates. I didn’t know that Mr Flood would be there. He took our class photo with Mrs Flood. Judi Fa’amaile 2F

Wow! When we went to the Riverina Field Days we saw lots and lots of sheep. We also saw giant tractors with really big wheels. There were sheep dog trials and “Bonnie” the Kelpie kept running around and barking at all the sheep. When she rounded them up they closed the gate to keep them inside.

We saw some cool motorbikes. One was a mini motorbike and it was for learning how to balance. Renzo Agatep 2F When we went to the Riverina Field Days I saw little dogs and they get trained so that when they get big they can round up the sheep. We could pat the sheep and give them some hay to eat. They felt nice and fluffy. We had to stay with our buddy and my buddy was Layla. Shaylani Kelly-Carberry 2F We went to the Field Days and we saw an incredible dog that was jumping all over the sheep’s back. Kim made magnificent animal sculptures. There was so much incredible stuff there. We even got to see the enormous cows. They were black and got scared when we went close to them. There were awesome motorbikes that were all different sizes but I liked the mini ones the best. I definitely liked seeing the helicopter. It went around lots of times. There were lots of enormous trucks with big wheels. Some were green, yellow and red and they had triangle wheels instead of round. It was the best day and they even gave out balloons. Ali Mousawi 2F
