Our plant is equipped with fully automated and computerized, state-of-the-art manufacturing and coloring technology, which provides products that meet or exceed ASTM standard C-936-96. It is for this reason we can provide the best warranty in the industry.

We provide a limited lifetime transferable warranty against cracking and structural integrity of our products. Installation, labor and shipping costs ARE included in this warranty should we deem the product structurally defective. Any material that proves to be structurally defective beyond normal wear and tear will be replaced providing it was installed in accordance to ICPI and/or manufacturer installation guidelines & specifications.

Due to the nature of concrete products, and the use of natural products, color variances and the occurrence of efflorescence cannot be guaranteed. We cannot guarantee the color match of replacement units. To assure the best color consistency, products must be installed from several pallets at a time. Proof of purchase is require at time of inspection.

This warranty does not apply to: Product used for the Wrong Application, Neglect or Abuse, Normal Wear and Tear, which is to be expected over the course of ownership, Damage Caused by Acts of God, War or Natural Disaster, Improprally Installed Material, Staining or Efflorescence. Select your Lowcountry Paver ShaPeThe first step is to choose the shape of your pavers. We offer a wide variety of shapes and patterns including our functional water permeable “Green Collection.”

Pick your CoLorWe are currently offering 28 colors for general availability, however, we have as many as 50 different colors available on special orders. Every shape is available in every color. For pool decks we recommend our “Cool Pool” collection located on page 98.

Choose your StyLeOur pavers come in two distinct styles:

The crisp, sharp edges offer a more modern and tight-fitting look. If modern is the look you are trying to achieve, we recommend the Classic Styling.

Riverwalk Style is a process achieved by intentionally and mechanically distressing the paver by controlled chipping and scratching. The result is a historic or rustic look. Riverwalk Styling is available in all products other than our 1" remodeling pavers, Lowcountry Coble 12 x 12, H2Flo process, Jumbo NurseryStone Wall products & Coastal Ridge Flagstone.

With a standard color to fit almost every taste, we are certain you will find what you are looking for. However, if it is a custom color you fancy, we have dozens of special order colors and we can match almost any color you give us. Special order and custom color products can usually ship within 2 weeks after we receive the order. Of course, in typical Lowcountry Paver Customer Service style, we offer all of our products in all of our standard and custom colors! Custom order fees may apply. Never paint parking lot lines and handicap spaces again! We stock solid white and handicap blue pavers!

The occurrence of efflorescence cannot be guaranteed. Efflorescence is a whitish, powder-like deposit, that is a natural occurrence in ALL cement based products, including concrete pavers. Lowcountry Paver accepts neither responsibility nor liability. Call Lowcountry Paver or visit or web-site for more details on efflorescence, color variances and our guaranty. Efflorescence doesn’t affect the integrity of the paver and can be cleaned off or just left to wear off naturally. Left alone, with normal wear and exposure to the elements, efflorescence will dissipate. If you find it necessary to remove the efflorescence before it wears away naturally, efflorescence cleaners and sealers can be purchased from Lowcountry Paver. Warning: Efflorescence must be removed from pavers prior to sealing. Call Lowcountry Paver or visit our web-site for more details on efflorescence, color variances and our guarantee.

Important note regarding colors: We have developed this color guide to help you choose the best color range for your project. Actual colors may differ from the pictures due to the nature of print media. Please obtain a free sample by contacting Lowcountry Paver. Due to the use of natural aggregates, Portland cement, pigments and the nature of the manufacturing process itself, color and blend variances cannot be guaranteed. To assure a well balanced blending of colors, the product should be installed by pulling material from several pallets at once. Delivered product can vary slightly

from physical samples.

Solar Reflectance SRI is the Solar Reflective Index, a measurement of the reflectivity of the paver surface to light and infrared heat (radiation). SRIs range from 0 or black and no reflectance to 100 which mean all wavelengths are reflected. The higher the SRI, the cooler the surface as some portion of the inbound light and radiation are reflected back into the atmosphere. This reflection helps keep pavers surfaces cooler and contributes to decreasing the urban heat island which typically demands more electricity in the summer to cool buildings.

Why use Lowcountry Paver Thin Pavers on my remodeling project?

Lowcountry Paver Thin Pavers are used for overlaying existing surfaces without the additional expense and inconvenience of removing the old surface. Concrete cracks, Lowcountry Pavers don’t.

Can I use Lowcountry Paver Thin Pavers on our driveway?

Some contractors have used our 1” thin pavers for driveway overlays with good results, however, we do not recommend or guarantee 1” pavers for vehicular traffic.

Why do my Thin Pavers over concrete seem to have more efflorescence than 2 3/8”paver on a gravel base?

Efflorescence is drawn out of concrete by moisture & humidity. Weep holes must be drilled into the existing concrete for proper drainage. Without these, water will sit in between the pavers & concrete which will accelerate the efflorescing process more rapidly and dramatically than 2 3/8” pavers over gravel & sand base.

Never use acid for cleaning. If mortar dripping occurs, use a clean wet sponge immediately. If severe staining occurs, call Lowcountry Paver for assistance.

Sealing is an optional though unnecessary on most jobs. Talk to your dealer if you have any questions regarding sealing, or call our technical department at 866.468.3561.

Joints should be brushed within two hours of tooling with a clean whisk broom. Do not use a metal brush. Do not brush mortar wet, as it will smear and leave brush marks.

When mortar joints become firm but workable, use a wooden striking tool (slightly smaller than the joint width) to fill grout voids and remove excess mortar. If the mortar is struck too quickly the joint will appear creamy; wait for the mortar to dry more.

The grouting mixture should consist of one part Type N mortar and two parts sand and clean water and should be thoroughly mixed to produce a heavy, cream-like consistency. Place the mixture in a grout bag and snip the end to create a hole the size of a penny. Fill the bag halfway, twist the top and hold tight. Applying slight pressure from the other hand and twisting from the top, place the grout bag opening in joint and fill the joint flush with the stone. Do not get mortar on any other parts of the stone. Let mortar set until it is firm enough not to stain the stone, but workable.

To keep stones clean, start from the top and work down. If you are using corner pieces, set them first for easy fitting. Keep lines and stone level, checking periodically with a four-foot level. If necessary, trim stone with a brick hammer, brick trowel or concrete blade in an electric circular saw. Using the same mixture as a the bed coat, apply approximately 1/2 inch of mortar to the entire back of the stone with your point trowel. By using gentle pressure and a slight wriggling action while applying the stone to the bed coat, you will assure a good bond. During warm weather, the bed coat may have to be sprayed with water to prevent water being drawn too rapidly from the applying mortar, since dry mortar doesn’t stick well. In cold weather, follow all guidelines set forth by the Construction Masonry Institute concerning cold weather masonry.

Mix thoroughly with pointed shovel one part Type 1 Portland Cement to 1 1/2 part clean brick sand in a six cubic-foot wheelbarrow. Add clean water to achieve a trowelable mixture. Use a concrete finishing trowel and spread mixture over metal lath, enough to cover lath approximately 3/8 of an inch thick. After drying, this will provide a good backing and assure firm bonding of the stone veneer.

If you are applying stone over clean masonry surface skip Step 2 and go to Step 3.

Due to it’s light weight, Manufactured Stone can be applied to any structurally sound surface and needs no special structural alteration or additions. Apply Manufactured Stone directly to the surface of concrete, block, brick and other masonry surfaces only if the surfaces are clean and unpainted. All other surfaces must be covered with a 2.5# Galvanized Diamond metal lath.

Frequently Asked QuestionsI HAvE WHITE DEPOSITS OR FILm ON mY PAvERS/WALLS, WHAT IS IT?This is efflorescence, a natural and common occurrence in cementitious & clay products. Efflorescence occurs when salts, lime & calcium leach from the cement to the product surface which creates a white deposit. Product that is installed in sunny, dry areas with good drainage usually experience less efflorescence and product that is wet or has shady areas can develop severe efflorescence. Either way, this is not a product defect and Lowcountry Paver accepts no liability for its occurrence. Efflorescence will eventually weather away with time. If you prefer not to wait for nature to take its course, efflorescence cleaners can be purchased that will remove the residue and restore the color.

CAN PAvERS BE INSTALLED OvER A POURED CONCRETE BASE?Absolutely, but steps must be taken so that water does not sit underneath the pavers which will accelerate & greatly increase the severity of efflorescence . Drainage holes should be drilled through the existing slabs approximately every 18”. Filter fabric is then applied with a 1” sand leveling course. This will allow the water to drainage.

WHY Do mY 1" THIN PAVERS oVER CoNCRETE SEEm To HAVE moRE EFFLoRESCENCE THAN THE 2 3/8" PAVERS?Thin pavers laid over top of existing concrete without drain holes as described above cannot drain as well as pavers laid over a traditional stone and sand base. This will cause a situation where the paver is sitting in water which creates a “Sponge-like” paver. Since efflorescence is drawn out of cementitious products by moisture and humidity, this excess moisture causes the efflorescence to appear more rapidly and dramatically than pavers over a gravel & sand base.

CAN LOWCOUNTRY PAvERS BE LAID OvER AN ExISTINg DRIvEWAY?Yes, if site conditions permit, our 2 3/8” pavers can be laid over an existing driveway without the need of removing the existing concrete. Some contractors have used our 1” thin pavers for driveway overlays with good results, however, we do not recommend this or guarantee 1” paver for vehicular traffic. WHAT ARE THE BEST COLORS TO USE ON A POOL DECK?Lowcountry Pavers makes a terrific slip-resistant surface around pools. Because people are often barefoot on pool decks, we recommend the

lightest colors in the “Cool Pool” collection (pg.100). After years of research & development, our Cool Pool colors were designed to put off the least amount of heat due to a special manufacturing process and are markedly cooler than other pavers on the market.

WILL I BE ABLE TO WALK BAREFOOT ON mY “COOL POOL” DECK?Probably not during the hottest days of summer in direct sunlight. Please keep in mind that almost all surfaces in direct sunlight on a hot summer day can still be too hot to walk on with bare feet, even beach sand! We recommend a light colored coping as swimmers tend to lean on the side of the pool.

WHAT IS THE BEST COLOR TO USE ON A DRIvEWAY?Our “Lowcountry Traditional Color” collection is recommended for driveways because they are darker and usually hide tire tracks better. If you do decide to use a lighter color for a driveway, it is recommended that you thoroughly clean and seal the driveway to help avoid staining and tire marks.

WHY DID mY PAvERS LOSE THEIR COLOR?Efflorescence causes a white film on the top of the paver that gives the appearance that the color has “washed out” or “disappeared”. We assure you that the color is still there. By taking a hose & wetting your pavers, you will see that the color is still there. Most often, a simple cleaning with efflorescence cleaner will restore the true color back in your paver.

DOES THE COLOR gO ALL THE WAY THROUgH LOWCOUNTRY PAvERS?Yes! Unlike many face-mix pavers that have color in a very thin veneer on the surface, Lowcountry Pavers have color throughout.

WHAT THICKNESS PAvER DO I NEED FOR A PATIO OR POOL DECK?Any thickness will be fine since this is a non-vehicular application. If it is an existing concrete overlay, our 1” Thin Pavers or 2 3/8” are recommended. For new construction, our 2 3/8” will be the least expensive and most popular option.

WHAT THICKNESS PAvER DO I NEED FOR A RESIDENTIAL DRIvEWAY?Residential driveway’s require 2 3/8” or 3 1/8”. 3 1/8” is only necessary when using the Olde World Cobble, HydraShed Permeable or SF-Rima Permeable Paver.

WHAT THICKNESS PAvER DO I NEED FOR A COmmERCIAL OR INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS SUCH AS A PARKINg LOT, ROAD OR PORT?For commercial and industrial applications, only our 3 1/8” thick pavers are guaranteed not to crack.

WHY DO LOWCOUNTRY PAvERS mAKE THE BEST PAvEmENT?Not only are Lowcountry Pavers beautiful, but installation over acompacted aggregate base results in a pavement that is strong, yetflexible enough to move as the ground shifts without breakingapart, rutting or heaving. In addition, they can be “unzipped” toallow for repairs or access to utility lines. Unlike asphalt and othersurfaces, pavers are virtually maintenance-free. And, LowcountryPavers are about 3 times stronger than regular poured concrete.

HOW DO PAvERS COmPARE WITH DECORATED OR COLORED CONCRETE?Decorated concrete pavement is regular concrete that has a pattern stamped onto the surface with a very thin layer of color on the top. It is common for the color of stamped concrete driveways & patios to wear off after only a few years of traffic. And, just like a basic concrete driveway, it is still vulnerable to cracking and does not allow access to underground utilities or the ability to make repairs. At virtually the same price installed per square foot, Lowcountry Pavers are clearly the superior choice

HOW DO I DETERmINE HOW mUCH STONE BASE mATERIAL AND SAND SETTINg BED mATERIAL I NEED? One half ton of modified stone or sand will cover about 100 sq. ft. at1” thick. Using a 10 x 10 (100 square feet) patio as an example, you would need ½ ton of sand for the setting bed (1” thick) and 3 tons of modified stone for the base (6” thick). You’ll need about 5% more sand for the joints between the pavers. The thickness of the base material depends on the application and subgrade soil conditions (uses a thicker base for poorly drained soils). As a rule of thumb, you’ll need 4” to 6” of base material for non-vehicular areas, and 6” to 12” for driveways and parking lots.

WHAT IS POLYmERIC SAND AND WHAT ARE ITS ADvANTAgES?Polymeric sand is a high-tech mix of graded sand and binder, specially formulated for filling joints between pavers. When installed properly, polymeric sand will remain in the paver joints and resist sand washout from rain. WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF SEALINg mY PAvERS? HOW LONg DO I NEED TO WAIT BEFORE I APPLY A SEALER? Sealers help resist stains and may enhance the color. As a rule of thumb, you should wait at least six months to allow any efflorescence to appear. Prior to the application of any sealers, the pavers must be cleaned with an appropriate product to remove dirt and efflorescence & completely dry before applying sealer.

WHAT CAN I DO IF mY PAvERS ARE STAINED OR DAmAgED?Special products are available to clean stains from concrete products. If the stains cannot be removed or are damaged, individual units can be removed and replaced. Remove the sand around these pavers and use a paver extractor (or two flat head screwdrivers) to lift the paver out. Rocking the paver gently in a back and forth motion will facilitate removal.

HOW CAN I REmOvE mOSS OR mOLD FROm mY PAvERS?Try liquid bleach diluted in water (10 parts water to one part bleach). Be careful not to get it on plant material. Keep in mind that there is nothing that will keep moss and mold from re-appearing in a shady, damp area. WILL WEEDS gROW BETWEEN mY PAvERS?Weeds and grass between pavers occur when seeds or spores lodge in the joints between pavers. They will not grow from underneath. This can be minimized by using polymeric sand or mixing a pre-emergent granular weed killer into the joint sand. If weeds do appear, a spot vegetation killer (such as Round-Up™) can be used and will not damage the pavers.

WHAT IS gEOgRID AND WHEN SHOULD IT BE USED?As a rule of thumb, all walls over 3’ high should be reinforced with geogrid. Geogrid is placed between the layers of block at different intervals to stabilize the soil behind the retaining wall and secure the wall face to the earth behind it. The height of the finished wall, soil characteristics, and the pressure on the wall caused by slopes, structures, and/or paved areas all affect the proper placement and length of geogrid. 121
