DearParishioners,AsourConfirmationstudentscontinuetomeetwiththeircatechists,mentors,andcoordinators,andpreparethemselvesforthegiftsoftheHolySpiritonOctober19,Iwillnowformallyaskeachofyoutoprayforthemforthenextmonth.ManyofyouhavechildrenorgrandchildrenwhowillbeconfirmedatthatMassatourparishwhichwillbecelebratedbyAuxiliaryBishopFernandCheri,butwhetherornotyouhavechildren,ourConfirmationstudentswantandneedyourprayers.Perhaps,therearelittlepenancesandsacrificesthatyoucandoforthem,aswell.ThatisusuallysomethingIfocusondoingforthematthistimeintheConfirmationprocessmyself.
ThepilgrimstatueofourLadyofFatimawaswellreceivedatSt.JohnoftheCrossparishonSeptember15thand16th.Iknowthatourparishwasrepresentedattheevent,soIwishtothankthoseofyouwhorespondedtotheinvitationtogoandpraywithOurLady.Assheleavesyou,askforherintercession,andhopefully,alltheworldwillgrowclosertoherSon.ThecentennialanniversaryofhermiraculousapparitionatFatimadrawsevercloser.I'mstilloftheopinionthatOctober13thwillbesomethingbiginthecontextofChurch,and,probably,theworld,aswell.Staytuned,andkeepyourselvesgoodandspirituallypreparedforwhateverblessingsandchallengesGodmaygiveusatthetime.

Itgoesontosaythat:
“ThissymbolofunitybetweenthecommunityanditssickmembershasthedeepestsignificanceontheLord’sDay,thespecialdayoftheEucharisticassembly[who]shouldberemindedoccasionallyofthesignificanceofCommunioninthelivesofthosewhoareill:unionwithChristinHisstrugglewithevil,Hisprayerfortheworld,andHislovefortheFather,andunionwiththecommunityfromwhichtheyareseparated.”
