WeLcOmeWe are excited to welcome you back this fall! We've been busy all summer making changes to improve your experience here at MacEwan Sport and Wellness. Thank you all for your patience and understanding during these renovations. With our new look complete, we can shift the focus back to offering you the outstanding programs and services that will help you to reach your fitness and wellness goals. Christenson Family Centre for Sport and Wellness Task Team Results: Our aquatics centre will once again be offering a full suite of programming, including public swim lessons, private swim lessons and rentals. Further updates will be provided via our newsletter and website.

Fitness Refresh: We are sure you will enjoy the new layout and cardio equipment with built-in media and ipod compatability. Be sure to ask one of our Fitness Consultants how to use all the new equipment to get the most out of your workout.

Squash court #4 is the temporary home of our spin classes until the fitness space has been expanded. The bikes will be removed on Squash Interclub League nights, as well as Saturdays and Sundays to accomodate member bookings. Members will still be able to enjoy the use of the spin bikes during non-class times and a few bikes will be left in the fitness centre, alongside our new crank cycles.

Our fitness studio also received a face lift and a brand new floor, just waiting for you all to jump, run and step your way to new levels of fitness. Membership Extension: To thank our members for enduring our first ever fitness centre closure in 18 years, we have applied an automatic three week extension to your memberships. We trust this small gesture will help minimize the inconvenience you so patiently put up with.

Ladies Locker Room: A huge callout goes to our ladies who endured being displaced while the washroom and steam room was being renovated. Thank you for your understanding and continued patronage.

Griffins Athletics: Make sure you come out and cheer on our Griffins this year as they continue to claw their way to the top of the league. Men's and Women's volleyball and basketball 2011 season begins October 21 and 22 at the Christenson Family Centre for Sport and Wellness. All Griffins home games are free to attend. Visit MacEwan.ca/Athletics for all schedules and results.

New Gymnasium Bleachers: Our new bleachers offer north and south media stations and a combined seating capacity of 1,490 making us a premier choice for hosting special events. For further information, contact our Event Planner at 780-497-5493. New Membership Structure: With everything else changing, it was also necessary to look at our membership structure and pricing. We now have only one membership category providing everyone full access to our entire centre during regular hours of operation. With this change comes some required pricing adjustments. You will notice an increase for Plan B members, whose blackout periods have been lifted, and a decrease for Plan A members. We took a number of variables into consideration while setting our new rates, including no price increase in the last three years, an increase in operational expenses and a desire to keep our prices competitive. Refer to this guide for further information on the new rates and don't hesitate to contact one of our Customer Service Agents—they will be happy to walk you through our membership structure and answer all your questions. New Website: We made registration easier with a new online system. Visit our updated website at www.MacEwan.ca/SportandWellness and like us on Facebook for exculsive information and promotions for our fans. As you can see, it's been a busy summer. We are looking forward to seeing you here, taking strides to maintain and improve your health and wellness.

Sincerely, Lisa PittetSenior Manager, MacEwan Sport and Wellness
