This home has a noble history. Its name derives from Viscount Devonport, who led the fund-raising campaign to build the house as a memorial to merchant seaman in the First World War.

Designed by Sir Edwin Cooper, it was opened in 1929 by the Duke and Duchess of York – the future George VI and Queen Elizabeth. These days the house, rooms and every detail are all yours to enjoy.Whether it’s your reception, your ceremony or both, we’ll make sure your day is asindividual, exciting and memorable as you have always dreamed.

Situated on the Greenwich World Heritage Site, nextto Royal Greenwich Park, the stunning Georgianhouse has a range of suites – named after key figuresin naval history – that can accommodate the most intimate or extravagant plans.

We are licensed to hold civil ceremonies, and can cater for up to 110 guests. For smaller gatherings of up to 30 people, you could opt for the Drake or Churchill suites.Outside to the front, the landscaped garden is the perfect backdrop for drinks, canapés, and not to mention those soon-to-be cherished wedding photos.

No meal would be complete without excellent wines andChampagne and we offer some of the finest vintages fromFrench chateaux, as well as some lesser-known gemsfrom around the world. During your drinks reception,we’ll keep the conversation flowing with tall Pimms,classic Kir Royales or flutes of Champagne.

Make a night of it


Deposit A non-refundable deposit of £1000.00 is payable to secure the booking. The deposit is held as a security against any costs of dilapidation arising from the event. Guest/Minimum Numbers At the time of booking anticipated numbers attending must be conveyed to the venue. A minimum number of 15 adults apply to wedding receptions, with a minimum of 75% of your evening reception being catered for. Additional courses are a supplement, including sorbet, soup and cheese. Bespoke menus may be created to cater for most requirements and budgets. Final Confirmation of Guests Final numbers & details are required no later than one month before your wedding and should not be less than the minimum number agreed at the time of booking if no penalty is to be incurred. Once the final payment is made one month prior, no refunds are applicable if numbers or requirements change. Late License We can offer a late license until 1am for £245.00

Civil Ceremonies and your Registrar It is the responsibility of the wedding couple to arrange and confirm the registrar for the day. You will need to contact Greenwich Registry Office on 0208 9215014. Food & Beverage Services Complimentary menu tasting is based on one starter, main course and dessert course per person; extra guests charged at a reduced rate of £30 per person to a maximum party size of 6. The venue reserves the right to withdraw bar services at their discretion. Any buffet food will be removed after 2 hours. From time to time certain products may become unavailable due to circumstances beyond our control. In this instance we will ensure a suitable alternative is made available. The availability of the BBQ menu is weather dependant. Damage The client is responsible for all the allocated rooms during the period of the booking. Any damage to the building, grounds, rooms and their contents incurred as a result of the client, their guests, or representatives, acts, omissions or default will result in a charge to remedy such damage. We reserve the right to escort any guest from the premises that, in the opinion of the management, are causing excessive disruption or damage.
