andfamiliarizeyourselfwithalloperations.

B. Makesurethepowervoltageiscorrectbeforepluggingthemachinein.

C. Keepa4”clearancetothewall.Operateinacool,well-ventilatedarea.

D. Preventdeburringsolutionfromspillingintothewellofthemachine.Cleanthewellandkeepitdryimmediatelyafterspillingtopreventdamagetothemachine.

E. Apowerfulmagneticfieldexistsatthebottomofthewell.Keepthemachineclearofanystrong magneticfields.

F. Donotmovethemachinewhileoperating.

G. Keeparticlessuchascreditcards,watches,cellularphones,etc.whicharepronetointerferencefrommagneticfieldsawayfromthemachinetoavoidpossibledamage.

H. Thetemperatureofthedeburringsolutionrisesduringoperationandmayriseto90°C(194°F)duringcontinuoususe.Handlewithcaretoavoidinjury.

PrincipleofsPINnerThemagnetizedmedium(stainlesssteelpins),theworkpiecesandthepolishingfluidareputtogetherina containerplacedinthewellofthemachine.Apowerfulmovingmagneticfieldisgeneratedwhenpowering onthemachine.Theresultexcitesthemediaandcausesthemediatobounceoffthe workpiecestoachievedeburring.

5. Operation A. Putthemagneticmedia(stainlesssteelpins)inthecontainer.Thequantityofpinsshouldbe:

EHD-716: ½Kg

EHD-728: 1Kg

EHD-735: 3Kg’s

EHD-750: 4Kg’s

EHD-765: 6Kg’s

B. Placeasinglelayerofpartsinthebottomofthecontainersotheydonotoverlap.

C. Addenoughwatertojustcovertheparts.Adddeburringsolutiontocreatea50:1watertosolution.(Addmoresolutionforbrighter,shinyparts)

D. Placethelidonthecontainerandplacethecontainerinthewellofthemachine.

E. Enterthecycletimesinthedigitaltimersonthecontrolpanel.(Note:cycletime,mediasize,andpartsquantitywilldependonthespecificapplication.)

F. Pressthegreen,startcyclebuttononthecontrolpanel.

G. Adjustthespinfrequencywiththespinfrequencycontrolknobonthecontrolpanel.

6. Comments A. Cycletimescanvarybetween2-30minutesdependingontheeffectneededontheparts.

B. Demagnetizingferrousmaterials:Ifthecontainerisremovedwhilethemagneticdiscisrotating,thecontentsofthecontainerwillbedemagnetized.Wearesimplychangingthemagneticpollsrapidly.


7. PartsandMediaSeparationProcedure A. Slowlypouroffthewaterandsolutionleavingthepartsandmedia.(Disposeofthefluidinamethod

consistentwithregulationsandcompanypolicy.)Avoidlettingthemediafallintoyourwaterdisposalarea.Nowyouarereadytoplacethemediaandpartsintotheseparationcontainer.Placethelidontheseparationcontainer.

B. Placetheseparationcontainerinthewellofthemachine.

C. Turnthespinfrequencytoabout1/2power.Turnonthemachineforabout10seconds.

D. Lifttheseparationcontaineroutofthewellofthemachine.

E. Stopthemachine.Thepartsshouldbetrappedinthetopoftheseparationcontainer.Thepinswill bepulledthroughtheseparationcontainertothebottom.(Dothisuntilmediaandpartsarefullyseparated.)

Note: Some pins may remain in the top of the Separation Container. Remove the parts and reclaim the pins for reuse. Also, some pins may fall off the parts after separation. Use the magnetic syringe to reclaim these pins for reuse.

Thehandlingofworkafterdeburring,suchasrinsingandrustproofing,etc,shouldbesubjecttoyournormalprocedures.

CleaningtheMedia:

Occasionallythemediawillneedcleanedtoinsurethebestpossibleresultsonthepartsbeing processed.Tocleanthemediasimplyruna10-minutecyclewithonlythemedia,waterandPFS-747deburringcompoundmixedto25:1withthewater.Theactionofthepinsonthemselveswiththesoapsolutionwillcleanthemedia.Rinsethemediawhencompleteandrepeatifnecessary.

8. DeburringSolution(PFS-747)Thefluidisrestrictedforusewiththemagneticdeburringmachine.Nootherpurposeisallowed.

Thefluidisconcentratedandthereforedifferentthanthecleaningmixtureratio.Diluteinwater50:1.

Caution:Donoteat/drinkthefluid.Ifthefluidisaccidentallyconsumed,drinklargeamountsofwaterandseekmedicalattention.

Caution:Thetemperatureofthefluidinthecontainerrisesduringoperation.Temperaturesmay approach90ºCaftercontinuousoperation.


9. ControlPanelforEHD-765(configurationmayvary)

1. POWERSOURCE:WhenturningpowertoONposition,thepowerisconnectedandthepowerindicatoris illuminated.

2. START SWITCH:Pressstartswitchtobeginacycle.

3. STOP SWITCH:Pressthestopswitchtoendacycle.

4. TIMER#1:Theunitoftimeisinminutes.Pressthetimerbuttonsforthedesiredtime. (Ex.Avalueof15willrunfor15minutesinthisdirection).Thenumbershownintheupperpart isthecompletedtimewhilerunning.

5. TIMER#2:SettinginstructionsarethesameforTIMER#1.

Timerpresetandperformance:Afterstarting,TIMER#2willfirstspininacounter-clockwisedirec-tion.TimerstopswhenthepresettimeisreachedandwillautomaticallyswitchtoTIMER#1. Themagnetswillrotateinaclockwisedirectionuntilthepresettimeisreached.

TotalcycletimeisthesumofbothTIMER#1andTIMER#2.Afteracycle,thelampwill illuminate for 3 minutes.

Ifasingledirectionofspinisdesired,setthetimerinthedirectionofspindesiredtotheappropriatetime,settheothertimerto“0”.

6. SPEEDADJUST:Thisknobcontrolsthespinspeedofthemagnets.Turningtheknobinaclockwise directionincreasesthespinspeed,counter-clockwisedecreasesspeed.Afasterspinratemakesamorepowerfuldeburringaction.

7. SPEEDDISPLAY:Thisdisplaysthespeedofthemagnetsvia10lamps,dividingthespeedinto percentagesfrom20-100%.

8/9. L/R/FUNCTION:Thesetwoswitchescontrolrotationdirectionforeachtimer.

10/11. FINISHALARM:Whenacycleiscomplete,thelampwillilluminatefor3minutes.Iftheswitch(10) isON,anendcyclebuzzerwillsound.Tostopthelampand/orthebuzzer,presstheSTOPbutton(3).

12. FREQ,HZDISPLAY:ThisdisplaysthefrequencyinHzoftherotationofthemagnets.Whenthe frequencyishigherthespeedisfaster.60Hzisthemaximumsetting.

Thisdisplaycanalsoshowsomefaultsettingsintheeventofmachinemalfunction.
