POD Expectations

Keep in mind that PODs are academic extensions of the classroom, not lounge areas, nor thoroughfares.

Students are not to sit on tables or counters and are expected to use furniture with respect.

This is not a place teachers send students because they are done with their work.

POD ExpectationsYour APs had fun making these slides but do as we say, not as we do!

Students can move furniture but not when people are in/on the furniture.

Respect the classes around you. Respect the learning taking place!

Students should not be in the POD area before school, nor during lunch because other classes will be in session

Grading Guidelines -2015 Update

Guidelines apply to all classes Reteach/Retest – When you want to Re-do an assignment

Individual basis – if score on assignment is less than 80% Replace grade with average of the two attempts Students must receive remediation (1 tutorial) and complete

all formative assignments prior to reassessment Teachers must post grades within 5 days Students have 2 school days to request the re-do and must

complete it within 5 days of the original posting of grades Test corrections are not an allowable retest opportunity

If a student scores higher on a summative than on an associated formative, the teacher may replace the formative grade with the summative grade value. This is NOT to replace missing work.

Zeros are no longer dropped Communication

Grades must be entered within 5 days of being turned in by student

Teachers will communicate with parents after the second “0”.

Grading Guidelines -2015 Update

Late work: 15 points may be deducted per class period, with maximum 30

points deducted Late formative work will continue to be accepted until the

summative for that assignment is completed or at least one day after parent contact is made

Semester Exams No Fall semester exam exemptions Spring: Students in AP classes who take AP exams Spring: Students who take EOC exams Exams will count 1/7 of the semester average
