• Funds several data-based
advocacy efforts – KIDS COUNT
is a signature project
Annie E. Casey Foundation
• Created in 1990 to provide
quality data and information on
children to decision makers
• Nationally, creates KIDS COUNT
Data Book each year and allows
access to online resources
including KIDS COUNT Data
Center
• Supports grantees in all 50
states, DC, USVI and Puerto
Rice to produce local data on
child well-being
KIDS COUNT
• The KIDS COUNT data
index covers four domains:
1. Economic Well-Being
2. Education
3. Health and Family
4. Community
• Each domain has four
indicators of child welfare,
for a total of 16 indicators
