The author has been working in industrial minerals since 1978 .with the government of Quebec till 1981 and as a consultant in the U.S. .Canada and Mexico for the last 14 years as well as internationally|for 7 years. The author as also been a shareholder in Piertal and in Georedex Granit The last 7 years have been with Canamex Granit and Manex Granit. The sampling and striping of the site was contracted to Jim Fbrster. the testing work will be conducted by Canital Granite in Winnipeg and will consist of cutting and finishing tests, supervision was done by Canamex Granit

3) Exploration work to date consists of striping and sampling tor testing of the stone. Cutting and finishing tests wiH be done in Winnipeg at Canital Granit this autumn. The work was done in two separate periods. The first striping and outcrop location and mapping in September 93. The second in august of 94 was to remove 0.5 meter sample of stone and additional striping.

4)The regional geology is Grenville Geological province in the Ontario Gneiss Belt and on the Grenville Front. The site is part of a monzonitic body, it is fine to medium grain with large pink phenocrists of 1 to 10 cm in size.in a black colour matrix. The pink and black monzonite is present on all the property, covered on 95**) of the surface with overburden.it is relatively unfractured with scarce widely spaced vertical joints 2 to 10 meters apart and horizontal jointing 2 to 5 meters apart

5) The stone is usable on 35*54. of the property. restrictions are due to environmental factors, the water proximity.and the constraints due to overburden removal and the cost involved. A series of defects ranging from large black zenolrts to pink aplitic veins have been found. An area relatively free of these defects is needed to consider this a quarryabte site. At present no such area is visible and large scale striping will have to be done to prove any kind of reserves.

6) No materials presently stockpiled. only 1 small block totalling approximately 0,5 cubic meter has been extracted and will be tested in Winnipeg. Tests will be done by Canital Granite this autumn, to see if the stone does take and hold a finish (polished.flamed and sand blasted) and does hold together well during cutting and finishing. The stone seems suitable for construction and possibly landscaping, the required large volumes may also be available.

7) Further striping win be done, if a suitable test area is located a bulk sample to permit the marketing of tfles, slabs and blocks will be undertaken next summer. Interest Hi the colour was quite good but concerns have to be put to rest on the uniformity and quarrability of this stone. The stone shows potential in construction and landscaping markets and is being introduced to potential clients such as producers and architects.
