Watchword for the Week – For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him may not perish but may have eternal life. John 3:16 __________________________________________________________

Welcome to our service of worship on the second Sunday in Lent, a 40-

day season of the church year during which we prepare our hearts and

lives for the celebration of Easter. The focus of Lent is on the humility,

self-denial, suffering and sacrificial death of Jesus. This makes the good

news of His resurrection and the joy of our salvation all the more real and

wonderful. Many people give up something for Lent as an act of humility

and self-sacrifice. If you are among them, please remember that

Sundays are not counted in the 40 days of Lent. Sunday, the day of the

week on which Jesus rose from death, is always to be a day of freedom,

    joy and celebration.

If you are visiting with us today we are especially glad you’re here.

Please take a moment to add your name, address and phone number to

the blue Friendship Register as it is passed down the pew. We consider

you an honored guest and hope you will return and worship with us often

in the weeks to come. If you are looking for a church home – a place

where you can share Christian fellowship, learn, serve and grow as a

follower of Jesus – we would love to talk to you about joining the

    Friedberg church family.

Please silence all cell phones before worship.

Please continue to add past and present Friedberg members to the

database. We plan to order more ‘Honor’ bricks on September 1 to be

placed in the Memorial by Veterans Day, November 11. After that, we

will be ordering ‘Honor’ bricks annually on September 1 to be installed by

Veterans Day of that year. In addition, we are still accepting donations to

the Memorial Terrace. Each donation of $300 will be recognized on the

Special Gifts to the Veterans Memorial Board(s) which will be

displayed in the Family Life Center. Database & Donation forms are

available in the office or online at www.friedberg.church. You will be

contacted for your information for the engraved recognition plaque.

We would like to say thank you to all those that volunteered in the

dish/utensil cleaning process and for helping to make it better each year.

We are again recruiting energetic individuals to serve in the dish washing

area on Saturday March 21st at our Spring Supper. Shift hours are 3:00-

As you think about this opportunity please remember that "cleanliness is

next to Godliness." For your information the dish washing duties that are

needed are as follows: Staging, dishwasher operator, dryers, manual

utensil washers, and distributors. Blessings and thanks in advance, Gray

    and Vicki Stanfield

Sunnyside Ministry’s March Wish List! There is still have a need for

blankets, sheets and towels. They also need canned meats and cereal,

either boxes or bags. The regular supplier of cereal has moved out of

state. In March Sunnyside will start to accept spring and summer

clothing. There are collection boxes for food and clothing in the hallway

near the church office for Sunnyside.

“Break” the FAST Breakfast. The CE Board invites everyone to

breakfast on Sunday, March 29 at 9:45 a.m. We will meet in the Family

Life Center. During Lent many of us have chosen to “fast” from food,

from doing certain activities or from following some programs. Some

have decided to add activities during this Lenten season. During this

breakfast we will come together to reflect on the meaning of Lent, eat

breakfast and have a time to ready our hearts and minds for the

upcoming Easter Sunday morning. Make plans now and mark your

calendar for this special breakfast. There will be a special devotion lead

by our children’s drama ministry. Let’s “break the fast” together and

prepare ourselves for the glorious resurrection of our Savior.
