TRANSCRIPT

Album cover/video for single(Radoactive)Marina and the diamonds is a group, with the main

singer Marina Diamandis, the genre of music is pop but with a slightly quirkier edge. Her new single ‘Radioactive’, has a very American Route 66 feel to it. It is also quite retro and adds a bit more edge. The idea of the song and video is mainly about freedom and being spontaneous, and has an upbeat feel to it. The single cover and all the promotional work are clearly from the same single. The image shows Marina in an American desert and

she clearly looks free. The font style and the colours used are really retro and quirky and suits the artists’ image .

Image of the artist

The vocalist: Marina Diamadnis has a consistent image throughout all of her vide but also generally in the public eye, outside of work, she has a very retro/quirky look which definitely compliments and goes hand in hand with the genre of her music.

Marina and the diamonds-Mowglis Road

All of the bands music video have a similar kind of style. They are all retro and quirky. She never seems to change and re-invent the bands image and style of video. The first one “oh no!’ has a quirky pop art fun feel to it. Her second video ‘Hollywood’ is quite similar to that of ‘Radioactive’ and has an American theme to it, in this video aswell, Marinas style and costumes are an important part to the video. Marina Diamandis is very well know for her style of dress and fashion and this also plays a vital key in her music videos. As her genre of music has a pop element to it, her videos never tend to show her playing an instrument, they all starr the Vocalist Marina, there is a lot of voyeurism in her videos and they all tend to focus on her performance, and never usually have much of a narrative within them.

Other album/single covers

There is a consistent look to all of her single covers: they all feature a close-up of Marina and all use the same font style for the cover, they tend to be really colourful and definitely represent the type of music.
